Hi all,

after all i came up with this two choice.
The BenQ FP202W with senseye technology

Philips 200W6CS/00

both 20"
my price is $400US(both are within budget),
Are there any other better LCD than this two?

mostly for gaming.
so i need a good response time... and contrast ratio and brightness, so basically everything..

Please put in some comments. thanks

I bought this one last week and am loving it. I played Condemned on it and didn't see any ghosting or any other graphical anomalies. Mine came with no dead pixels, and the picture is amazing.

This is my first LCD and my eyes might not me as trained as some, but as far as I can tell it's a great monitor. I am very impressed with it, and do beleive it's seen better reviews than both of the ones you just posted.

Just found it here for $389.95 shipped. Can't beat that!!

^ I agree. The FP202W definitely hasn't gotten good reviews but the VX2025WM is awesome.

I was thinking of this Viewsonic myself, but I have heard some mixed things about it over at HardForum:

http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1026462

I hear the NEC 20WMGX2 spanks it pretty bad.

ALOHA

Maybe so, but I will not be using a 20-inch anything to watch television because it's a tad too small, so the component/composite inputs do nothing for me. When I watch T.V., I prefer to recline atleast 6ft. away from the screen. I boought this monitor for computer purposes only, ie. for gaming and web browsing, and it works wonderfully for these two uses.

I considered the NEC you recommended, but I just cannot bring myself to pay almost $800 for a 20-inch monitor. That is double what I paid for to VX2025wm, and it was hard enough to bring myself to pay $400.

For those that can afford the more expensive NEC alternative, by all means!

For faye and I, the economical but still hiqh-quality ViewSonic should be sufficient.

I want widescreen,
16:10 ratio

is 16ms response time low enough for FPS game? like counter strike?

I want to play battlefield 2(and /or the one come out)

so is 16ms (typical) good enough?

16 is ok depending on the quality of the panel being used. But the Viewsonic is 8ms gtg. But the way I see it 16ms is pretty well getting phased out with the newer generation LCDs that are here now, and some new ones on the way soon in a few months.

But Faye STICK to 8ms if you can and nothing higher.

Check out the Widescreen Gaming Forum for widescreen gamin info. We've got fixes for most games there. A lot of new games support widescreen natively, but some games developers such as EA still arent implementing it (yet they do a widescreen version for 360!).

Its also a good place to ask about widescreen monitors. The Dell models are very popular, and there are a lot of users who like the 2005 and 2405 models, although a few people have complained about responce times, i havent noticed any difference over my 17" LG Flatron.

The Viewsonic VX2025mw definitely look nice.
I now don't like BenQ anymore, I now a bit more tend to vx2025mx, however, does it allow you to change aspec ratio on the LCD menu?

I remember that Philip 200W6CS can allow me to change the aspec ratio to 4:3 .
Yes it will leave you black boarder, but this is still better than having a stretched image.

Does VX2025MW have this?

I have an hp f2105 (21 inch widescreen) and that's great. Colours are superb, if I use something like pixperan there is a little ghosting although I can't see it in games/movies. As for not stretching you can just set the lcd to use a 1:1 ratio (so if you say set your graphics to 1280*1024 it just puts black bars at the left and right).

I looked at 20 inch widescreens but personally they felt a bit small - subtract about 3 inches for how big the display would be if you chopped the sides off and made it narrow.
i.e. a 19 inch 16:10 feels like a 16 inch 5:4.
a 20 inch 16:10 feels like a 17 inch 5:4.
a 21 inch 16:10 feels like an 18 inch 5:4.

I just got my Viewsonic VX2025mw yesterday. Despite it being shipped with a damaged base and a super ugly, cheap-looking design, it's a really nice and great performing monitor. I returned my Dell 2007WFP and got this, which I'm happy with. Well, I will be after I exchange it

Absolutely no competition, NEC 20WMGX2 ownz all. I have one, It is the best LCD in the world. 1600:1 contrast ratio, 470CD/m brightness (if a flashbang grenade goes of in CS:S, you'll be blinded for a few seconds, and I don't mean blinded in the game), 6MS response time, I have not seen any ghosting yet. It costs ~$800, but if you can afford it it's no competition.

Well yeah, the NEC would be nice. But then again, it's $800. That's quite a bit to pay, eh.

I can get some pictures taken of it for you. It is basicly brand new, hasn't been used much. I purchased it from Best buy roughly one month ago. It has ZERO dead pixels and no backlight bleeding. I will include the orginal receipt for warranty issues. I play FarCry and BF2 with all details maxed and I have't noticed any ghosting issues. the monitor has a 8 ms Gray to Gray response time, so its quite fast. It is indeed a WS LCD with the 16:10 ratio. It supports resolution scailing, so you can run a lower resolution either streched or with black bars around it. It also has PIP and several different types of inputs. You can see a picture of it here. As you can see I am offering it for quite a discount. Please PM me for details.

Seems like the NEC LCD is Great,
However it is not available locally.

And i don't really want the LCD to be shipped to me.
I want to see it myself directly if there is dead pixel or brightspot.

If i run the LCD at 1680*1050 in windows, let say browsing, will i see any slowing down? I have a ATI 9800pro. with DVI

EDIT: the viewsonic vx2025mw has only 16.2M color, i heard that 16.7M is way better than this standard, is it true? I will play FPS like Crysis, battlefield 2, people said the surface of the gun will not be that great if i have a 16.2M color LCD. Is it true?
