for stock speeds the fan is ok.Can't say much for overclocking.Depends on how much u want to overclock.
If u want to overclock to say a 300 mhz GFSb its ok.
I have an X6800 @ 3.5GHz stable on the retail HSF ATM, but the fan really howls under full load, and gets hotter than a $2.00 pistol..... For any long-term OC'ing, a good HSF (or watercooling) is a must.
It's OK as long as you have decent overall case cooling and if you're overclocking is limited to FSB increases. Once you start increasing Vcore you better think about better CPU cooling.
You'll also find that a high performance HSF will be quieter while being more effective at cooling then the stock unit.
