So I have seen the Venice core suggeted by many people, I was wondering what makes it better than a winchester or likewise core of AMD64 cpu's? What are the differences? More stable overclocks?

Well, the Venice is one generation above the Winchesters. They run cooler, can run on lower voltages, and these put together means better overclock. Venice or San Diego is what you want to get.

i was wonderin bc i saw a winchester @ newegg with same specs but slightly higher price than the venice (finind links now....)
edit: found them but the venice is on a one day sale which explains it I guess....

Next question
is it worth it to get a 3200 over a 3000? Do i NEED a better Heatsink to do small over-clocks?

Venice upgrade the process, and add the SSE3, generally, Venice is easier to overclock, and outperform Winchester in Video for SSE3.

Yep, winchester memory controllers had a few issues and were fixed with venice and san diego. They have SSE3 and SOI (once a feature of the FX line only)

I thought the Venices ran slightly hotter than whinchesters - but they're still better overclockers.

i would get the 3200+ they will both top out the pretty much the same, but since you are doing small overclocks, you want the one that starts out higher in the first place. especially with stock cooling which is perfectly fine. also, if you decide you want something better, pick up a thermalright xp-90 for less than 30 dollars.
