The Samsung S300L300HL, by far. The resolution of the LG display is not only pitiful by gaming standards - you simply don't see dedicated PC monitors at that low of a resolution - but TVs are comparatively poor about input lag relative to PC monitors, due to the post-processing they are programmed to do to improve TV image quality.

so the TV will be slower than the monitor in fps gaming !? but they have same Hz and the Tv has lower response rate , is there another measuring unit !? and can i notice the difference between 1080p and 768p in gaming under 27 inch screes !?

If you have a GTX 760, you might as well get yourself a decent monitor to run it on, rather than a TV. 24" max for 1080p.

Input Lag: In video games, input lag is either the delay between the television or monitor receiving a signal and it being displayed on the screen, or the delay between pressing a button and seeing the game react

TVs are not optimized for input lag. Since they're not interactive devices, they often do a bunch of processing to improve the image. Input lag is not a published specification, so you cannot merely look at the specs for a TV and compare it to a monitor like that. But you can be quite sure that a TV is going to have more input lag than a proper PC monitor.

and can i notice the difference between 1080p and 768p in gaming under 27 inch screes !?
Absolutely. On a 27" 768p display the pixels will be nothing short of huge. You will easily be able to see the individual pixels, which is an undesirable behavior.

Even my lowly 22" 1680x1050 has 68.15% more pixels than your TV and people think I'm crazy for gaming on such a 'low' resolution.

TVs are terrible as monitors.

I would disagree, as far as input lag goes. Many TV's have a "GAME MODE" that eliminates post processing to speed up the display. My 42" Toshiba Regza also has a dedicated "PC" mode/DVI port also that receives no post processing. I know on my TV and Projector the Game mode turns off the 3 frame processing buffer which cuts all noticeable lag, without "game mode" there is definitely a bit of input lag.

If you want to get into absolute specific devices, yes, there are some TVs with really low input lag if configured right. But the vast majority of them out of the box suck as monitors, and many of them have considerable input lag even with turning post processing off.

For someone specifically asking to buy a TV or a monitor for PC gaming, i'd say yeah, in general TVs suck for what they want to use it for and buy a monitor. The hassle of finding a "good" tv for gaming is already a PITA if you're actually looking for a TV, no sense in going through all that when buying a monitor is the better and easier option.

I've used 32" samsung LCD as my full time monitor and it absolutely rocked. Crysis, Battlefield, Borderlands, Starcraft, COD, NFS, you name it.. no difference whatsoever, as when playing on my DELL.. Major Benefit: Can play from 1-2 meter distance on couch + x-Box controller

It was an S-PVA panel with 1:1 pixel scaling.. With a high speed DVI cable and selecting "PC Mode" in samsung's setting menu, it's like having a 30" Dell at half the cost..

One thing to mention though, there is significant difference in picture quality when playing on 1080p instead of 768p. with a 760 Gt, you don't have to worry about graphics power of your setup..

Also, if you already have a 26" TV, get a 32" one this time.. It's totally comfortable using 32" LCD's, sitting 1 meter away from the screen.. just like a desktop monitor with stand..

Another thing i noticed, crappy looking movies look a lot better when i play them directly via USB plugged into monitor.. Can't replicate that effect even when im using Yadiff 2x + Post porcessing in VLC player.

I've also used a 32" Samsung LCD TV as a monitor, but briefly. Gaming was excellent, vivid bright colors and was surprised at the result. But couldnt use for regular PC work. Too bright and uncomfortable for the eyes. Yes, could turn brightness down but then gaming would suffer and look dull. Went back to my regular monitor. Maybe other LCD TVs may be better, but I dont think I could use one as a permanent monitor.

I've always been a fan of using a big tv (32"+) as my primary monitor and a secondary non-widescreen monitor for web browsing/other general multitasking.

Samsung LCD has 4 picture modes and i used customized Brightness and sharpness settings for different tasks -

Normal - for regular PC Use (low backlit / brightness / mid sharpness)
Movies - for Movie (Mid backlit / brightness / Low Sharpness)
Standard - For TV (Mid backlit / brightness / Sharpness)
Dynamic - For Gaming (Mid - High backlit / brightness / Sharpness)

takes 2 clicks of remote to change the mode..

I did similar with a Samsung 27" and had great results. A blanket statement that tv's suck as monitors is not accurate.

For OP xpressmusic he's going to want to step up to at least 1080 resolution

Been using a 40" Samsung HDTV for nearly 5 years now and love it. I used a color calibration tool to calibrate the color, brightness and contrast.

I play on game mode and it works great. TVs are not designed as view only. Manufacturers are very aware of the people with PS3, 360 or Wiis.

The only downside is, sitting close at 1080p, the size of the pixels is larger than optimal, but I'm very happy with it, given the size.

Get a huge TV with "Game Mode" or a 27" monitor with 2560x1440

Personally, I prefer resolution.
