You know, growing up were were educated that condoms are just fine for the men, that they didnt change the experience at all. That's complete crap. When I make love to my wife using a condom to prevent unexpected babies, I almost prefer to not be doing it at all (almost). I am not a condom fan... of course, the pill killed my lady's libido, so I've gotta put on a raincoat when jumping in for a while. What can ya do?

To summarize: Condoms are teh suck.

Yeah, I think there's sort of a propoganda around them to just get more people to use them...which they should. So maybe its a necessary evil.

They're sort of exaggerated...they help prevent many STDs effectively, but just because you put a condom on doesn't mean you're suddenly immune. The only safe sex is in fact no sex, as much of a downer as that is.

They are an effective method of BC...but pills are way better, they can break and actual use statistics don't really put them much better than the old withdrawl method.

They also make them sound like they integrate so naturally in the bedroom...but in practice, fumbling with a wrapper is not sexy, it can sometimes be hard to put them on in the dark, they stink like latex (there's a reason they don't make latex scented candles folks) and they can irritate skin, particularly the spermacide kind.

And anyone notice those great instructions "immediately after ejaculation, pull out, pinch condom and remove." A big part of the fun is...gloating at the finish line I guess?

Once I first stopped using them it was "Whoa...WHOA...Now I know what all the fuss was about!"

i dont really have that many condom options, so i pretty much stick to monogamy and pay for the girls' pills, plus pulling out.

no Condom's for me. (Married and she's on the pill)

I wish there was a way to get an easily reversable vasectomy though. Like little taps that we could just turn on when we wanted to have kids. That would be great.

Assuming you only have sex on the odd occasion. If you're having sex 4+ times a week you're going to end up hurting her in the long run if you're not lubing and using a condom.

I believe they are working on the "male pill". I haven't read much about it though.

I tried the Lifestyles ones, and they were okay, but I didn't keep buying them. I also tried Trojan magnums, but they seemed much thicker than anything else. I switched to Durex and those seemed to work out a lot better.

Both seem OK. As to what ones my GF prefers..:

She hates spermicidally lubed ones.
She doesn't mind any other, but tends to dislike the ones with 'extra goo' as she puts it..

*shrug*

Edit: Useless fact - in over 3 years I've never had a condom break...

You can get all types and brands at www.britishcondoms.com

I shop there to get the Trojans they don't sell in pharmacies.

Does she ask "how do you make balloon animals with those" everytime you do?
