It would be funny if their first guest next year is the other Chris Evans.

Good riddance. Chris Evans has a face for radio and a voice for silent film. I find it hard to understand how he has had so much success in the UK during his career - I just don't see any discernible charm or talent there.

Good. I think BBC played that masterfully. They put out a show that was so awful that anything they do from here on out will be brilliant in comparison.

I stopped watching top gear years ago when it became a repetitive exotic car circle jerk.
Watched bits and pieces of the last episode and I thought the Porsche segment was pretty good.

I liked some of the bits of new Top Gear. Chris Evans was almost offensive though, in the way he came over as fake and over the top. I think authenticity is what Top Gear needs most, and he had very little.

The idea of a head to head for the celebs is interesting, but you might as well go to the trouble of making it a Race of Champions style event - two laps didn't work out in original TG and they don't work out here. Also, the rallyX- aspect makes it even more weather dependant than the original, I rather liked the mostly level playing field that tarmac provided.

Eddie Jordan should probably also go. The remaining four make an interesting quartett of different characters, that are all believable.

take your ugly mug back to radio

I was actually fine with the show, although I can see the need for improvement. Low expectations ftw!

This season has been a snooze fest. Literally have fallen asleep watching half of the episodes...would prefer to watch re-runs of older TGs.

Not sure there is much left to save that isn't just a pale imitation. That is how the show feels this year.

I wasn't impressed at all with the new one either. It is overly enthusiastic at times (e.g. getting the whole crowd to shout "THE STIG"). It almost looks like they're trying too hard, where it felt more natural in the previous seasons.

Hopefully they'll figure it out, though. It'd be great having a couple of excellent car shows to watch.

Big fan of Top Gear back in the mid 00s. I didn't even make it past the 1st show this year. I honestly fast forwarded most of it. LaBlanc isn't bad in prior appearances as a guest on the show but you can tell he wasn't into it. He seemed like he needed more weed to deal with the forces around him. At least he's a real 'petrol-head'. Too bad he's American. I'm sure they'd want a primary host with a British accent. Speaking of petrolheads Jamaroqui wouldn't be a bad occasional off studio guest host. Not regular... guest.

Tried to watch but got mad and stopped after the extensive 2 celebrity guest interview on ep 3 I think. The interview seemed to go on forever. After attempting to skip past it 3 or 4 times I gave up and just shut it off. I don't mind the other presenters. I love Sabine

I would have preferred if BBC had re-worked the show more with the new cast. Even with the lack of chemistry, I can't imagine anyone doing well in a obvious imitation of how the show went previously. Kind of like watching the 'new' Daily Show with Trevor Noah; it feels like someone imitating the original rather than doing their own thing.

When I heard Eddie Jordan was going to be on Top Gear I actually had high hopes because he is a really interesting guy and he has a lot to say but Christ they just make him come off as some kind of unrelatable Stig-like character.

I'd actually like to see him test driving cars and commenting on them. Not sitting on a train, eating cheese and drinking champagne.

they let him drive one of those mid/compact suv's earlier in the seasonand he completely destroyed it; ran into everything. I think matt told him, "seriously, you can't drive anymore" or something like that.

I didn't mind him in the first episode with Matt LaBlanc. He at least tried to have some energy during the Jeep/Land Rover scene. Matt LeBlanc seemed like he didn't want to be there and was pretty bland (Matt LeBland.) However, Matt seems to be doing better now and Chris just got worse and worse. Glad to see them do something. They had far too many hosts anyway.
