That's not Fuel. They have a song called "Bad Day", but it isn't the one that's popular now.

Their most popular song was Hemorrhage (In My Hands), by far.
i think that is what he meant. Fuel's song does have those lyrics:

Had a bad day again
She said I would not understand
She left a note and said, "I'm sorry I
had a bad day again"

Agreed, but it wasn't a hit, that I can recall.

I do recall "Bad Day" getting a bit of radio airtime back some years ago...

I think it was on the radio.

Shimmer was quite possibly the first mp3 I ever downloaded...atleast in the first top 10 I downloaded. Fuel is a great band, and i'm interested to see what could happen with this guy as the lead singer.

They want the chick to win. The 2 left overs are hideously ugly and fugly. All that call to vote is BS. It's decided even before they opened the phone lines.

I liked Bittersweet the best out of the Fuel songs.. Seriously.. it IS the best Fuel song.

They have a lot of good ones besides just Shimmer and Hemhorrage, though.

I went to a concert at Janus Landing that was Virgos Merlot (now Virgos and an emo band instead of alternative/grunge) and Buckcherry (still around.. bigger than Fuel now) opening for Fuel. It was cool cause' it was a smaller concert, yet the bands were really good. Fuel is really good live.

Now go listen to Bittersweet.. the BEST fuel song.

EDIT: From Wikipedia:

Fuel had already laid down the instrumental tracks for their fourth album and soon started auditioning singers so the band could move forward. Abercrombie and Bell took notice of American Idol contestant Chris Daughtry, after he performed "Hemorrhage (In My Hands)" on the show and the single shot up to the Top 10 download list on iTunes and stayed there for a number of days. This also sparked interest in other Fuel songs, which began to appear the Top 100 download chart on iTunes. On March 3, 2006, judge Randy Jackson stated in an interview that Daughtry had been offered the opportunity to become Fuel's new lead singer.[1] Fuel confirmed their interest on their official website. On May 11, 2006, Abercrombie and Bell appeared on the TV show Extra to officially offer Daughtry the job.[2]

How does anyone see Fuel as anything but tamed down, 4th generation grunge.
how does anyone think their opinion is the only one worth a sh#t?

Fuel >>>>>>>>>>> American Idol. The only artist from AI to be worth a damn is Kelly Clarkson. Chris has nowhere to go but up.

Chris is garbage. I have stepped on bugs with more personality than him. The only Fuel he will be pimping is for Exxon.

He is a rocker wannabe that fooled so many. Bo Bice was a real rockNroll guy. Chris seems like some fool they tried to mold onto one. Totally fake.

weeeeeeeeeee....

but anyway, seriously, i would like my question answered. i'm not don vito, ragging on all grunge-derived music. some of my favorite bands are STP, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, etc., so i think i have a more intimate perspective than him. i don't hear Fuel breaking any new ground or really doing anything interesting within the genre. the guitars are unmemorable and the vocals have the generic rough baritone/tenor timbre with an AOR (adult oriented rock) twist. everything about them screams grunge made palatable for adults, IMO.

When did I rag on "all grunge-derived music"? I have been a Soundgarden fan since their first album - I first saw them live in 1988. I like Alice in Chains too. I even have a weakness for STP, though I think they were very derivative - to some extent they redeemed themselves for me by virtue of Scott Weiland being an honest-to-goodness degenerate. I don't see the connection between that music and overproduced, synthetic-anger crap like the pablum Chris seems born to sing, or that populates the charts now. Nickelback, Three Doors Down, etc. can all fall into the Marianas Trench as far as I'm concerned.

i stand corrected. i had only seen a few of your posts and i thought you were lumping all of the alternative rock scene into angry-young-man rock. people who can't see he difference between the big alt. rock bands of '92 and the big bands of '99 probably shouldn't be criticizing rock music.

i agree chris does seem sold on the 3rd or 4th generation of alt. rock bands, but i think he could front a quality band. he has a very solid voice.
