A lot of time can be wasted on such issues, especially since if one looked deep enough they'd realize that they already practiced what was once considered idol worship. Too often Christians get off on a tangent that seems to draw them closer to God, but it actually draws them away and unto themselves. Rememeber that the Phariscees(sp) were "holy" and "righteous", but in the eyes of God they were pathetic for they had no love, compassion, etc.

Issues are fun and all, but God doesn't care if you believe in submersion/sprinkling for baptism, Saturday/Sunday as the sabbath, or what political party you vote for. What God does care about is the motivation you have for doing the things or believing the things you do and it is the motivation that each Christian should be worried about, not the actual act.

What does this have to do with the issue at hand? Both nothing and everything. Don't waste your time figuring out every issue, invest your time in being like-minded with Christ.

Nope that wasn't it Yzzim. I wish I could give a verse number because if I could I probably wouldn't have posted this The verse said he bore the mark of god on his hand. When I read it on the site, I couldn't remember ever reading it and then I referenced it with my bible and that is indeed what it said, but now I can't find it anywhere. I would like to read into a little bit more.

cant remember where it is at but it is something like that
like eating food from idols,ok as long as it dont mean nothing to you but dont cause your brother in the faith to stumble

People readily interpret the rules of their religion as it best suits them. That's why Chrisianity/Judeo/Islamic sects are so full of sh!t. A good example would be the churches in San Francsico that believe the bible condones homosexuality.

Contained within this very thread is one of the many reasons why organized religion is so silly: Christians arguing over whether tattoos are condoned by the bible or not. In other words, half of you are going to hell and the other half aren't.

Deuteronomy 6:7 perfectly explains why Moses or any other Christian at the time would have a symbolic sign on their hand. I think we both agree that back in that time the law in the Book of the Law states that you couldn't have a tattoo. Since Moses wrote this book I think he knew what he was able to do. Do you think that Moses would have really broken God's law by having a tattoo on his hand? And why would God give Moses a tattoo if it was forbidden in the law?

Yzzim, I think one can only assume that only marks from pagean rituals were forbidden. In fact, I found a website that dwells on this issue and even a Rabbi was asked to interperet from the Hebrew text and he even stated that you can't infer wether tattoos are forbidden. I've went through a couple hundred websites in search of the one I'm looking for and I've been gathering some information. I don't have a lot yet, but hopefully by this weekend I'll have enough to be worthy of updating this.
