I've yet to meet a person in this world that isn't a hypocrite at one time or another, whether it's Christian, Muslim, liberal, conservative, what have you.

You'd have to actually be Christian to understand what our beliefs are to judge whether we were being hypocrites. For some odd reason you see only what you want to see of Jesus teaching. You seem to think we should all be hippy homo peaceniks. You're also confusing what was taught for a person to be like with what a country or a leader of a nation should be like when acting as it's head. I forgive readily. That does not mean that the USA should just forgive the terrorists who attack us or that a Christian can not support the self-defense of his nation.

Don't bring up the "love your neighbor" teaching; that does not apply to self defense, and if you applied it to the Iraq war, you'd necessarily come to the conclusion that most police and FBI officers are murderers. (Preemptive operations are done all the time on the domestic level, often with death involved.)

The fact is that all religion is hanging on an ever weakening thread. The more threats they can remove from their power over people's lives the better. The Crusades remain, without any end in sight. The same goes for the Muslim faith. No one buys this crap anymore, even alot of those who profess it.
