Spinal cord injury. He was popular before the accident, as well as after.

I saw that on Google, too... I have to admit, it made me laugh.. tasteless or not. A good joke is a good joke.. heh.

He didn't have a fatal disease, he was paralyzed.. and last I heard, was making remarkable progress.

Well, sorta. After Superman IV, most people didn't think twice about him. That movie was BAAAAAAAAAAAD

I liked 4 better than 3.. heh

2 was the best.

It's not really his fault the movies were bad, though.

Making remarkable progress how? He was completely paralyzed. It's not something that is reversible.

Yeah. It doesnt get better. He could do nothing more for himself now than he could when first injured.

It's always sad when someone passes, but I'm afraid I have to agree with Maddox on this one. Did he give a sh!t for people in his position BEFORE his accident? Fat chance...

Not that what he tried to do was BAD mind you, but to garner so much praise for his "unselfish" deeds is ludicrous.

I thought Superman 1 was the best. I didn't like 2 because it ruined the Clark Kent/Lois Lane romance. Basically, in this version of the legend, Superman became a tragic hero in that movie. He can never love nor be loved. Instead, he kissed Lois and she forgot everything and he will continue to act the same way -- teasing Lois but knowing nothing can ever happen.

The reason why I'm bothered by this version is because I don't think a man can be a Superman without the love of a woman (because of personal reasons). I just don't like the idea of such a nice guy like Clark Kent never being able to experience love.

Do most people care that much about other people's problems unless it affects them personally?

Did Michael J Fox give a horses ass about parkinsons before he got it? Probably not.

To me it doesn't matter when or why he did the things he did, but just that he did them at all.
