How did the OP know this before the news organizations?

Not that I want to doubt Drudge, but it is odd that I can't find any info on Google News.

Poor guy has also broken a few 'wrong' stories as well. For the most part has a good record, but there has been a few times where he was misinformed.

I hope it's not true but I won't believe it until it's on BBC, etc.

So has CBS and the New York Times.

That is really irrelevent. Every news source has screwed up.
Yes, it's possible.Drudge has screwed up in the past, I am just making a point that there is a small possibility that this can be a screw up as well.

I dove into a 4ft deep pool and broke my neck when I hit the bottom. I'm a C6 level quad, my fingers are paralyzed, arms are flaky, and everything below my mid chest.
My GF was in her apt bedroom getting dressed for Teeball practice when she was 7. Apt complex lawnmower had a poorly designed peice, it feel off the deck, and shot through her window and into her neck. Shes in pretty damn good shape. A good bit better than me.

He isn't entirely wrong. He could breathe for 45m max...barely. Below his neck - he could shrug his left shoulder. That's it. These things don't come back, even with all the therapy in the world. We goto therapy to prevent atrophy, and learn to manipulate what we've got left. I KNOW. I have the same injury.
It was his tone that irked me the most. You CAN get better.. some more than others... sometimes not at all.
Yes its possible...things change. My sensitivity improves a bit every once in a while. No motor improvement.
People get the wrong idea that hard work in therapy will cure this. They think wasting our lives away in PT will make us walk again, and that is honestly bullsh!t.
I won't walk again. I accept that. I'm interested in improving life with the injury. Kidneys, skin, etc.
