every now and then i install chrome and do 1 test which it always fails.

i go to facebook and then zoom. the text gets bigger and the page distorts since the images dont get bigger.

i have a 30" dell monitor and need to zoom in. opera does it fine, dont know about firefox since it's slower than opera (for me and annoying with it's plug in incompatibility) so dont try it anymore.

anyone using chrome as their main browser?

also, anyone able to tell me if there's a way to get pages to zoom in properly? (inc images)

I play around with it every now and then.

The thing I hated with chrome was no auto complete but that is now fixed after I downloaded the chrome channel changer and switch to Dev mode.

Try Dev mode and maybe it will help your problem.

The browser is nice and fast..

Download the chrome channel changer 2.0 and switch to Dev mode, restart the browser, update to the latest version and it will have the auto complete and what ever else they threw in there.

Seems to be pretty sweet so far to me.

ok, got it. hidden away for some reason.

zoom issue is fixed for the most part. it's still totally useless though

i loaded about 30 tabs from opera into it and it crashed. reopened it and it offered a recovery option. that worked ok.

when i closed chrome down normally and reopened it, it lost all the tabs.

pathetic browser. doesnt even do sessions.

I have a lot of issues with Chrome and Facebook. Also, when a tab in Chrome crashes, it takes the whole browser with it. What ever happened to independent sessions with the tabs? One dies the others are fine?

Defending chrome, I use it for a quick session when I want to have a peek at a site.

But for my main needs I use firefox.

I am using Chrome right now as my primary. I didn't like it at first, but it's really grown on me. Now, I love it. Most of the plugins are becoming available now, so compatibility is great. I still have firefox as a backup, but haven't needed it for weeks.

What? Is that project actually alive? Nothing has been heard of it since 2006.

I was using Chrome for a bit, but I was missing adblock and mouse gestures too much.

And I spend too much time on AT. Some sites didn't render correctly, but that was less of a problem. For some reason, the ad servers on the AT forums really caused Chrome to crawl where they don't with IE or Firefox.

Dunno if that's been fixed.

Google's web storage project is called "Web Drive", and it will be unleashed this year - they actually slipped in a few mentions of it in the Picasa for Mac release.

I wouldn't be surprised to see PC's that actually are loaded with some variation of Android, and use the Web Drive as their main storage option in the next 12-16 months.

It's my main browser but I have firefox constantly ready to go to access pages that Chrome is incapable of accessing. Its scripting is still sh*t.

I have found more problems that look like internet connectivity but turn into chrome. It did some weird pausing thing yesterday on youtube and I've found other sites like anandtech that simply will not load in it from time to time but then I do it in FF and I'm good to go.

I use chrome now, but a lot of times I have problems with Chrome and this forum...hmm...don't know why, but sometimes it works like now. Is opera worth looking into? I may have to dabble into that and see what it is all about it.

I'm surprised they promoted Chrome out of beta to a "final" product. It's really not up to snuff from a functionality perspective.

I totally agree. I stay away from IE...and I was going to put Firefox on my new PC but I was like "hey maybe try out chrome." It has its gimmics and looks that make it nice in my eyes, but totally agree, it needs to be finalized from its beta version. I'm about to see Opera is all about.
