Chrome takes 100% Cpu on startup for several seconds

So i have a pretty new system with

• i7 8700
  
• 32 GB Ram
  
• 1080 Ti
  
• 512 GB SSD Boot drive

and chrome takes 100% cpu for several seconds on startup (as in starting the chrome) almost hanging my system in the process. Granted i run over 200+ tabs span across multiple instances of chrome with a dozen plugins/addons. I just wanted to know if its normal and is to be expected?

So every time you start Chrome, it loads 200+ tabs?

If so, I'd say that would chew up quite a few of your system resources while that happens.

Have you looked at Task Manager - Performance - Resource Monitor while you did that?

Yes, well my work requires me to do a lot of strenuous research which does not grant me the luxury of having time to organize. I cannot afford to close those tabs only to come back squandering around trying to find the data i needed which happened to be in one of the tabs i have just closed. The work is just random so its hard to say which tab is safe to close and which is not. Its just going to create chaos for me, and the plugins i have are there to help me cut off the extra clutter from the web pages that just waste my time or annoy me with their glaring flashing ads, auto play videos, popup ads, scripts, trackers and all that crap that they put around in web pages nowadays. I set chrome to restore previous session on start up cause i sometimes just give up and go to sleep or something and i want them back when am back the next morning.

Yes i have looked around task manager and resource monitor, i'll take a screen shot next time i boot my system in a few hrs and post it.

Try one of those "lazy tab" extensions where the tabs are not loaded until you click on them?

Yes thank you . figured it out yesterday while looking around at chrome extensions. Did a lot of testing and its working wonders. For anyone who have similar problems with chrome/firefox try using the LAZY TAB extension.

I think "lazy tab" is the default in Firefox. When closing and then re-opening the browser, with Restore Session enabled, it loads the tabs, and the tab icons, but it only loads the actual tab content when you click on them.

Another reason I am stll a fan of Firefox. The othe thing I don't like about Chrome is the fact that, by default, it keeps running after you close it, unless you disable it in settings, at the bottom of More settings.
