Chromebook running ubuntu - any good?

Saw this on slickdeals today, and Ive kinda wanted one just to play around with.

I know ubuntu can be installed, but what kind of experience can i expect running on this? It has a Exynos 5250, which is pretty fast for an ARM chip, but what would be the x86 equivalent.

Since steam is now on ubuntu, would it be possible to install and run on this, even though its not x86? I think that would be pretty awesome if i could play a few less taxing indie games.

Haha. I've just been watching videos on Youtube about this very thing, because this morning I bought one of those after seeing the Slickdeals post. Apparently they are down to $171 right now on Amazon in Like New condition, which is awesome. The thing I wanted Ubuntu for was to play mkv files. I stream the hell out of media from my server over the network and it would kinda suck if the laptop couldn't do that, which it looks like it can't acceptably right now. I HIGHLY doubt that Steam would work well if at all on the thing, but there is only one way to find out.

For $170 and change its a no brainer to buy the thing. If for any reason you don't like it you can return it directly to Amazon within 30 days or you could sell it on Craigslist for ABOVE what you paid for it. Chromebooks in my area are going for $200-220. If I threw it up there for $180 it would sell in a few hours. Thats why I bought it. Can't really lose.

Just picked one up for 170. ITll be fun to play around with at the very least. Im really interested in ubuntu on arm, and what apps are available. Im really looking forward to the ubuntu phone that would dock and basically become this - so its sort of a preview for that.

What else can be installed on this? Android? I think it would be kinda cool to run android on this, even though without touch it would kinda suck.
