Chromium or Chrome on Lubuntu?

I use Firefox primarily on Lubuntu and I don't have any pressing issues with it, but I like to have a spare browser just in case. I'm vaguely aware that Chrome is based on Chromium and my understanding is that Chrome is basically Chromium with a few more Google account connections. I can install Chromium straight from the standard set of packages available to Lubuntu, and I'm vaguely aware that it is possible to install Google Chrome on Lubuntu if I add another repository to the package list. Is there any point in me doing this? I think the last time I had a quick crack at it, apt was giving me some odd errors to do with that repository.

If I wanted to use a google browser, I'd use chromium. On my office machine, I have falkon installed as a secondary browser. Don't use it much, but it's pretty nice, and lighter than chrome(ium)

You can install Chrome by downloading it direct from Google as a *.deb. It will install the repositories for you.

You could also try a different browser like Vivaldi out first if you so chose.

Get Chrome, then you get Google spyware....
I would opt for Midori browser as backup....
