What's funny is that this is the truth - they should be able to successfully argue on the grounds that the Federal government has no authority to designate what a person can and can't do with his body (which is why they used "marijuana stamps" originally) - regardless of the reason he/she wants to do it.

Unforutnately, since they attack the issue shielded by religion it makes them look silly.

Well... if Marijuana possession/use is illegal, then they shouldn't be exempted. I feel the same way about peyote- if society determines that something shouldn't be allowed, then to make exceptions for special cases is absurd. If it's wrong, it's wrong.

However, nonviolent drug use like this shouldn't be illegal. So until these harmless plants are legalized and regulated, I'll support these crazy potheads in their efforts. Go get 'em.

while I agree that pot should be legalized, the comparison to peyote isnt really the same.

I think the big argument for peyote is that it was part of the religion and culture of natives before we got here.
