a 20 million dollar price and potential citizen ship plus protection for anyone stepping forward with conclusive proof of a link between the presiden elect and the red corner. That should do it.

Amazing and sad seeing the supposed educated, enlightened democrat liberals in denial sinking to the level of 9/11 truthers, birthers, deplorables.

Unless they actually hacked the voting machines or brainwashed the millions of missing Obama voters not to show up to vote, the Russian hacking is just another in a long list of scapegoats so democrats don't feel responsible about their loss.

Hillary lost to Mr."grab them by the pussy " Trump,

Face the truth, whether it was low energy Bush, creepy Cruz, or crooked Hillary with hundreds of millions in election money and all the establishment pundits behind them they all still lost to Trump,

not because Trump was that good but because the rest of the candidates, both Republican and Democrat were that bad.

Even if Russia hacked the emails, and I don't believe they did, they did the country a great service.

The emails exposed the deep, deep corruption of the DNC and their colluding with an overly cooperative media, which still remains apparent post election.

That's a win for America any way you look at it.

I disagree.
In example, there are some of us who are happily married. If I found out my wife's decision on marriage was in part based on a direct and major operation by a 3rd party to intentionally mislead or direct her towards me, it'd be a serious concern even if I were ultimately the beneficiary. The end result isn't always the most important thing. Processes matter. I don't want any 3rd party having significant power or influence over the heart and mind of my wife.

I'm not saying the American voter was tricked, but certainly no one should be happy about Russian operations to potentially sway hearts and minds actually ending up being effective. If the argument is that well trump would have won anyway, that is very difficult to defend given what we know at this time and given what our intelligence agencies are looking into. Clearly wikileaks was highly damaging and it clearly was a directed effort on someone's part and was reasonably effective.

So, if it's 100% proven the Russians did the hacking, what's to be done about it?

I'm not sure what will happen. Its unprecedented. I doubt its enough to result in impeachment (unless there was evidence that he was somehow directing the use of stolen emails) or anything like that, but it'd seriously undermine the legitimacy of trump's presidency. He'd be seen as some sort of Manchurian candidate amongst other things.

At this point, its very hard to see trump (at the very least Mike Pence) not be president in the near future, nor does it change GOP control of government. However, knowing if your incoming president is legitimately acting in the best interest of the american people vs being under control or in collusion with a potentially hostile foreign power is damn important given the sheer power of the position. The other way to think about it is like this: trump is the least vetted presidential candidate in the last 30 years. Period.

So Trump was involved with the leaks? Tell us more.

It's already been proven, the CIA doesn't make announcements like this (which are very much agains their interest) unless they have thoroughly researched the whole incident. I'm sure they will provide whatever evidence they have for review.

The only question now is why the hell Obama allowed this all to happen and didn't immediately freeze the election process for review and tell Mitch McConnel to F off. I'm appalled at Obama's late term actions... he is proving himself to be everything he said he wasn't. He hasn't even bothered trying to dismantle the ridiculous security apparatus and surveillance state he will hand directly to this Tyrant Buffoon. Obama has dropped from one of the best, to one of the worst presidents in history IMO. He is allowing fascism to take over the country while he "coaches" his pet fascist on how to use drones and who knows what else.

If I remember right you previously claimed that Obama was behind the Ukrainian revolution, genocide in Syria, etc, now you're saying you think he was one of the best presidents ever until this?

Dude, if you're going to concern troll and try and push pro-Russia propaganda on here you have to keep your character and story straight. It's not that hard, so show a little pride in your work.

I'm not saying that at all.

The basic point being made by the CIA is that 3rd party interference in our elections is a big deal, regardless of the beneficiary. Furthermore, if there was collusion by the beneficiary with that 3rd party its even more important to look into to ensure he isn't somehow compromised.

AFAIK I've never posted a single thing about the Ukrainian revolution, tbh I don't know much about it. I do know Obama concerns himself with Ukraine a lot and likes to make comments about it while he completely ignores his own actions in Yemen and Syria. Interesting that in your abject Russophobia you've literally invented conversations I've never had with you or anybody else about "revolutions" I know nothing about . That said I don't remember everything I've posted here verbatim, so perhaps you can prove me wrong here.

What is your opinion on Obama's handling of this whole Russian hacking issue? Do you think that handing over the government to a Russian mole is conducive to the preservation of democracy?

Trump isn't a Russian mole, he's just an easily manipulated idiot.

Regardless, your concern trolling is painfully obvious. If you aren't going to stop doing it please at least get better at it.

What does it say about America if an "easily manipulated idiot" can steal the election with aid from a (quite marginal) foreign power? I would hope he is more than that.

Some of you seem to be losing it. We already thought the Russians were behind the hacks. It doesn't change a damned thing. The only thing that would be meaningful is if someone would show that voting machines were hacked to change the actual votes from Hillary to Trump or something like that on a massive scale. Otherwise, this is going nowhere.

Is it disturbing that a foreign power, especially the Russians, interfered with the election by hacking and leaking information? Sure it is, very much so. We need to do a better job protecting ourselves from those kinds of things and I hope the US can take action against the attackers but it doesn't change the election results.

I think the prism of Clinton vs Trump is biasing way too many people.

put aside all questions about the past election itself... we have the CIA, FBI, and Homeland Security reporting that a foreign power is trying to influence our elections. if nothing else, shouldn't it be something that the people in power need to take seriously to stop it from happening in the US 2018-2020 elections or in the upcoming German and French elections?

my biggest worry isn't that Putin helped Trump get elected, it's that Trump and Republicans in Congress are going to sweep the entire thing under the rug just because it benefited them this time, and we're not going to see a bipartisan consensus until after Trump pisses off Russia and they're on the receiving end too.

You spit in the face of facts?
What? It's those who create these threads who are spitting in the face of the fact that Trump won the election.

It's time for you all to come join the rest of us in this place we like to call reality. Much more calm and enjoyable not glued to the internet outrage-machine all hours of the day

There is a difference between:
(A) Trump is our next President, and we have no tangible evidence to discredit this. Now let's look into what Russia did.
(B) Trump has not won the election, let's look into what Russia did and invalidate the election.

I like your logic - a foreign nation wrongfully attempted to influence the U.S. elections, therefore the U.S. should intervene in the upcoming German & French elections.

You do realize that is the exact same logic Russia uses when it involves themselves in foreign affairs, right? "We're only intervening in this Baltic nation to ensure this demographic of people are not unfairly shut out of their rights in the upcoming election."

The only logical thing to do over the Democrats inability to secure their computers is to start a war.

Since I'm not grieving the election's outcome, it doesn't apply.

Hell, a signed, sworn statement from Putin that they hacked the emails wouldn't make a difference.

Repeat after me: "President Trump". You'll be seeing that a lot.

I have yet to see one post election autopsy that says the email leaks swung the election. I did see Donna Brazile and several news outlets claim they were false anyway.

You folks just make it up as you go along! An RNC spokesman just appeared on the tube, feverish in his argument that "you can't PROVE that the hacks affected the election outcome!"

Absolutely. Positively! What he says is so, so true!

Instead, you can prove the INTENT to affect the outcome, based on CIA hacks or intelligence of the Russians.

And what proves from that, we can't be sure. In the sieve of possibilities, we might actually find out that TRUMP had FOREKNOWLEDGE of what the Russians had in plans. That would make him a Traitor. It makes his supporters all dupes to a foreign power.

"Got your traitor in the White House? Make ya feel good?

Your Weasel of a President Elect? He's going to suffer, Bitch!

Let this teach you a lesson, with your phony accusations, your manufactured congressional committees, your lying politicians. There's not one genuine American bone in your sissy bodies.

Even Robert Baer, the former CIA careerist and media commentator has it wrong! He's saying the same thing that Trump's political apologists are saying -- with serious assertions that the Electoral College will "know" that the Russian interference affected the election! He's thinking on the wrong level with the right intentions.

You don't need to prove that the Russians affected the elections! You only need to prove that the Russians deliberately intended to affect the outcome with hacks and misinformation. That proof would arise in CIA's intelligence-gathering -- their own hacks of the Russians, tapped phone conversations and all of it.

And that leaves the possibility that Trump had foreknowledge! The trail-signs of that possibility show in his dismissal of the intelligence and his mistrust of the very agency he must be able to depend on when he takes office. It shows in his unwillingness to take intelligence briefings. Why would that be? Because he's quivering in his shoes that the CIA knows something, his briefers may know something, and he'll be facing them daily!

It suggests that he's a cowering Sissy, a possible Traitor to his Country. Calling him an Asshole now is bland.

It is so easy to generalize that all Trump supporters and Republicans are the dumbest people on the planet. I'm not stupid enough to make that mistake, but only for the purpose of sticking my thumb in a GOP eye and pulling the squish from its socket. And I'm not even discussing any "liberal ideology" or other detritus always disparaged by Republicans here to show that their opposition is filled with "Useful Idiots."

I can't guarantee it, because this will continue to unfold and paralyze us with apoplectic wonder. We don't know. But my best estimation? Your Asshole President is goin' down! He could get through a full term, but he's goin' down! You can't respect an Orangutan Haired Bully. You can't "follow" such a morally-deficit leader.

No matter what happens -- in the next month, the next several months, the next four years -- we will likely be spitting in your faces. Makes you suddenly gratified to have a mild case of CPOD with the morning bubble-gum expectoration. Hope you get some soon!

did you misread my post?

I'm assuming that the French and German peoples would be interested to hear of any knowledge the US intelligence agencies can share if we have proof that Russia is trying to influence our (or their) elections.
