Do you also live in a state that didn't allow for the full implementation of ACA as well? That does tend to impact the bottom line of those insured.

no. but that doesn't help. whoever implemented this must have foreseen this - hey that's why he is president.

if it cannot be done correctly/fully, then don't do it - after all, nothing is better than nonsense.

That's great. Blame Democrats for Republican obstruction. That way you never have to admit that liberals did something good or conservatives did something bad.

This is a fundamental misunderstanding due to your ignorance about what the law actually contains. There is very little in the law that influences the price of medical care. In fact, the price of medical care in the US has been rocketing up for decades. Conservative media has been telling you that the price increases you are seeing now are due to the ACA but anyone with two brain cells to rub together realizes that is bullshit. The inflation has actually slowed down a tiny bit since the implementation of the ACA.

You are right though. The ACA played a big part in the defeat for Democrats. You see, all conservatives are just as gullible as you are.

you seem have made a BIG assumption on my gullibility. nowhere in my post i mentioned my personal preferences. i was just stating a reason.

Do you know how tiresome the canard of parroting Republican bullshit and then denying support for the party is? Really, really fucking tiresome.

No. I addressed your point about rising costs. I never mentioned preferences.

really? you said and I quote "You see, all conservatives are just as gullible as you are." - which is a direct attack.

i am a long time member, and I realize P&N is this way (with personal attacks and all), however, it would be nice to show some respect to fellow members.

thanks.

Hmm.

This post reads like Bruce Wayne's venerable parents stumbling into the theater back alley that is P&N.

Good luck.

It's not nonsense to the millions of people who gained coverage through medicaid extension or exchange subsidies. Far from it.

It's not germane to the discussion at hand, either, other than as deliberate distraction.

What is true is that DJT has now made his way into the Oval Office on the basis of distortions, innuendo & outright lies reinforced with material gained form Russian hacking.

Repub & Russian propagandists will be toasting each other over it for years to come.

Your post made it quite clear you think the ACA is responsible for rising medical costs and/or rising insurance costs. Believing that makes you gullible.

You add preexisting conditions and someone is going to pay for it.
The only argument for the ACA is that costs were already rising, so it possibly didn't affect the trend.
Ultimately only single payer can soak the costs and provide an affordable end user experience.

You make the perfect the enemy of the good. The millions of people who now have health insurance are the reason for the ACA, after all. Millions more will never face the threat of medical bankruptcy, either.

The individual mandate was designed to offset those costs.

So is that why they called it the Affordable care Act?

Not surprising snip.

So...nothing? LOL the continued failure is fun to watch...

Chucky is willfully blind. It's how he maintains his world view.

Lets assume that's true for a second: The irony of you posting that could possibly break the Internet. Please, be careful, there are those of us that enjoy using this great creation, we don't want you breaking it for us.

He's more honest than the rest about america as a white country

Unfortunately, that's not true... I sit here surrounded in my own town by people who really don't look too white to me. So much for that "white country" lol...

I don't see many trumpsters here as very beguiled. They're literally cheerleading ethnofascism, not because they can't figure out what it is but it's what they wanted all along.

You say that like it's a bad thing...

Not surprising the white power types can't figure what they mean themselves by this is a white country, but figure themselves the smart ones anyway.

Regardless of who you tell it still isn't affordable to most. And going through the roof more every year.

Health care costs were going through the rough well before the ACA. In fact, before the recession, health care costs were the number one cause of bankruptcies. So at worst, the ACA slowed the pace of health care increases and allowed millions to get access or not be denied coverage because of preexisting conditions.

But let's get down to the heart of the issue: what's your boy and the GOP Congress going to do about rising costs? How are they going to make it more affordable?

You were one of the more vocal Obama complainers on this forum, show us how you aren't a hypocrite and how you can be critical of "your team".

OK so they just go bankrupt slower.

Not sure what congress will do with their recommendation... Time will tell. I don't have a boy.

While in fact I think Obama was pathetic, I wasn't one of the more vocal complainers...

Time will tell.

I know you believe that. I don't know why you believe it's true. If it weren't affordable for people having subsidized exchange plans they wouldn't be paying the premiums. But they are. It's a helluva lot more affordable than it was before.

The medicaid extension is obviously affordable for those who qualify, as well. Otherwise, they'd have the same bumpkus they had before.

It's certainly much more affordable than it was before the ACA was implemented. I would've been fucked when my wife was pregnant with my first child if not for ACA as we never would've been able to afford health care on our own.

Premium hikes were going up 10-20% year over year before ACA was implemented anyway.

Single payer us the only real way to reign in those costs, but the right torpedoed that in the ACA anyway. So the reason the law doesn't work as well as it should is once again due to meddling by the right.

No, It doesn't work because the ones that cannot afford health care are depending on the healthy younger people to purchase insurance at inflated prices to support their lower premiums. The younger healthy people are not buying insurance, so the whole deal collapses under it's own weight.
