Cigarette package foil to unlock AMD's?

Okay, I'm not sure about american cigarettes, but in Canada the packages the cigarettes come in contain silver foil. This foil has a paper backing on it that can be easily be peeled off. With the paper peeled off you just need to get a stiff edge to rub the foil onto a surface and it sticks quite well. So, I'm wondering if you can extend this idea and us it to connect the L1 bridges on the Duron and T-Birds? You could just rub on a little square over all the bridges then scrape off everything but the foil connecting the individual bridges. This foil is quite easy to remove once rubbed on so it seems like (in theory) a good solution. I don't personally have a processor to try this on, just wondering if someone has tried this and what kind of success you've had? Just a thought/suggestion.

It could work, but bear in mind that those bridges are really tiny. I mean, really, really tiny.

Each one is about 2mm long by .5mm (guessing) and they aren't much more than 1 or 2 mm apart. I had to use the tip of a dental probe and a magnifying glass to apply the window-defogger repair paint, and even that looked enormous as I was painting it on.

Give it a try, though. Sounds like it would be easy to remove if it doesn't work out.

Are the bridges raised off the surface of the processor or it it faily flat and smooth? If they were raised then that would probably make it next to impossible because the foil rips quite easily.

The bridges are very slightly raised off of the processor, but it's a tiny amount. I would say though that the bridges are too small to use this cigarette packagre idea though.
