There isn't anything illegal about it. That is what the insurance company is doing with the OP is called coordination of benefits between the two. Primary pays their part first, the remainder gets files with the secondary and then if anything is left the insured pays. I have a maintenance medication that I use that cost about 1, 287.00 a month, between my primary BCBS and Tricare Standard ( military retired ) I pay nothing.
