Personally I think it great for all parties for a variety of reasons but I don't think I would want something so intrusive recording all my movements at work.

It is just another ploy to grab money from taxpayer if it can't fulfill the above conditions.

Sure, but it's still better than nothing. Dumbasses like this guy still get nailed despite knowing that they're being recorded.

It will also cut down on false claims of police misconduct, which waste taxpayer money and cast doubt upon legitimate complaints.

I'm not sure it will cut down on false allegations, but it should easily disprove them.

On one hand, I see this as a great idea. On the other hand, I'm afraid that there may come a point where an officer's word is worthless unless corroborated by video.

Why should an officer's word be anymore valuable than that of anyone else's? When it comes to a court of law there should be proof such as video evidence not just some he said/she said.

I've got mixed feelings about stuff like this. Seems like it wont be long before every thing we do will be recorded. I'd rather go with fewer cameras and take my chances. just because it's possible to put a lens anywhere does not make it a good idea to do it.

What if the officer hesitates to act in a life or death situation because he or she knows they are being recorded and may get sued over it? I don't like the idea of cameras everywhere I turn.

This seems like a really good idea, except for the fact that the officer has to hit record. It should automatically record everything the officer does. I hate the fact that a police officer's word has more supposed truth to it than any other citizens.

A cop could give me a ticket right now for speeding when I am sitting at my desk in the office and I would not be able to disprove him.

It's to big. If you have to tote around that GPS looking thing he is holding up it's to much of a liability. We have to tote around enough crap the way it is, I don't need yet another piece of equipment on my belt. Heck we don't have tasers and I am glad we don't for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is I don't have room on my belt for one. Either it of my weapon would have to go on a drop-leg holster, which I have no desire for.
