Might be acceptable if they recorded at all times. Can't wait for the convenient "forgot to hit record" cases that will invariably come up.
Sure, but it's still better than nothing. Dumbasses like this guy still get nailed despite knowing that they're being recorded.
It will also cut down on false claims of police misconduct, which waste taxpayer money and cast doubt upon legitimate complaints.
I'm not sure it will cut down on false allegations, but it should easily disprove them.
On one hand, I see this as a great idea. On the other hand, I'm afraid that there may come a point where an officer's word is worthless unless corroborated by video.
Why should an officer's word be anymore valuable than that of anyone else's? When it comes to a court of law there should be proof such as video evidence not just some he said/she said.
Cops need bigger guns and more powerful tazers, in fact scarp them... just guns, not ear fuckin cams to have their every move scrutinized by some scumbag Monday morning quarterbacking attorney.. Inmates are running the asylum.
