Ph2 x3 720 @ 3,2Ghz, 8GB DDR3 @ 1333 Mhz:
225 first run, 228 second run

Core i7 3517u (1,9...3 Ghz), 8GB DDR3 @ 1600 Mhz:
182 first run, 186 second run

A bit baffled by the low score from the Yoga, it drops turbo bins quite a bit (starts at 2,8Ghz, drops to ~2Ghz within 10 seconds) but temperature doesn't seem to be the issue. The case kept cool to the touch, temperature diode reports 23°C at start (20°C ambient) and 58°C max and fans work fine.

If you lower bclk and raise multi, you can get a better score..

4th place wasn't good enough eh?

Just having fun. I watched the Asus OCing video for the X79 chipset and applied the suggested settings to my Sabertooth mb. Worked really well!

I use the profile settings option in the BIOS to save each different multiplier with it's settings as a different profile. MUCH easier to quickly reboot.

Might try a new one with a 50 multiplier to see if I can get it to boot.

I use 44 x 100 with offset vcore settings 24/7. Runs very cool, is fast and solid as a rock. Having custom water cooling helps very much.

Tried 50 multiplier with the 48 multiplier settings all the same but upped the vcore to 1.435. Booted into windows but would not run cinebench. I'm sure with tweaking I could go higher but 3rd place is fine. Besides, I run 24/7 at 4.4 Ghz with offset mode on vcore. Runs really cool with custom water cooling. The real benefit is to the video cards.

Sweet baby AMD FX-9590, allinone cooler, 1.54V.

And this is the chip with 1.55V validation guys ...No cold, but really normal ambients and simply cooler

It's kinda disconcerting to see an 8 core processor running at 5.3GHz getting the same score as a quadcore processing running at 4.3GHz (my i7-4770k with a minor OC).

I wonder if there'll ever be a day AMD pulls merely an Athlon (I'm not even asking for Athlon64 level awesomeness) again.

You are sooooo sooo wrong.
1)you can not compare clocks, different architectures. 4770K ussually ended at 4.4 GHz stable with air (too hot), FX Vishera 4.8 GHz ussually
2) Do you know, what are logical cores or not?Im sure, i7-4770K has 8 logical cores as FX-8xxx. And yes, i7 is 4C/8T. The core is here mainbuilding unit.
FX has not building unit the core, but THE MODUL UNIT (shared second cache, FP unit and few next limitation) ! So its 4CU/8T

Sadly if someone since 2004 experience dont know this basics ,-). 8 cores was unfortunately marketing of AMD for hype. Engineers dont wanted it with name 8-core.
But I think, this is at 99% lost. AMD can not fight with giant yet ...I think strategy will come back to APUs and HSA. Maybe in future 2-3 years will strike again with performance chips.

Yes, I know it's 4 modules, 8 cores. AMD had wanted CMT to be better than SMT though so that didn't work out considering how much more resources CMT needs compared to SMT.

Besides, I'm really thinking about how it takes 5.3GHz to match 4.3GHz while needing a lot more power (high voltage and heat).

Furthermore, don't let the early Haswell's color your perception of its overclocking potential. The recent batches have been showing better overclocking room. My own recent i7-4700k runs at 4.3GHz without changing from the stock voltages (not even going past 1.180V when running IBT or Prime95AVX. I can probably go lower in fact.) and less than 5 degrees more heat on air (Hyper 212+ so it's not even a super air cooler).

Not a bad result from what will most likely be my last AMD main PC.

I can go above 5GHz on the factory 1.49 volts, I can make it to Windows at ~5.3GHz (and even run single threaded benches). But my motherboard has no LLC and I see major vdroop once I start overclocking. You're giving me inspiration to get a new motherboard sooner than later.

FYI the Durvelle guy who posted results in this thread is a banned AMD viral marketer who doesn't actually own what he claims. Hopefully the benchmarks weren't stolen from anyone here
