Cingular now offers a 5th line for family talk, with rollover, which is hot hot hot. I currently have a plan. Where its a 69.99 plan then i have 3 other lines at 9.99 a piece. Im gonna add a new line for my brohter so my total will be approximately 110 for 5 phones. On top of that I get a 20% discount for being a USPS employee. Shhhhh I don't work for them. hehehehe

the plan is 1100 anytime minutes
add $14 dolars and all phones will start nights at 7:00pm
unlimited mobile to mobile
I think this is F'ing hot

That's a good deal assuming you all can control your 6am-7pm calling habits. ( I mean non-cingular or land line calling habits).

Does anyone know if they require same last names or can you get in with a bunch of friends?

You could do this with a bunch of friends. The account will only be in one person's name.

Thanks! Even better if one of my buddies works for the USPS (I wish).

MrNutz,

In regards to your article I found it very intersting as I had thought about doing that myself. I think an intersting addition would be to use a bluetooth cellphone and have that connect to your computer. I don't know if you're familiar with floats media agent but it allows you to use your pc soundcard and speakers as a headset. Capitilizing on this, you could use the computer and have it connect to a software SIP phone (x-lite, etc) and an external program and basically have it do the same thing that you were mentioning in your article.

The only downside would be that you're computer would need to be on 24/7 to run the program. I don't know if you're familiar with asterix (digital PBX with voip using a computer), but i'm sure that it could somehow be made to route the calls, etc. In any event this is a really interesting concept and could save people alot of money (and be done on the cheap using an old computer, a VOIP provider and an extra cell phone line with M2M)

Anyway good work on the article and thanks OP for the information

wait, i got that plan 69.99 for 3, w/ 10 each additional phone.. but after you get tax, 3 phone = 120.00, you'll add 2 more phone for 10 + 10(tax) = 160.. but u get that nice 20% off that we dont get.. its pretty expensive..

Thanks stephsully. I've never seen the FMA app. Looks like an awesome app, esp since I've always been an Ericsson fan.

FMA could possibly cut out the Dock-and-talk. And by using Asterix you could cut out the SPA-3000. The downside would still be that your PC would have to be on all the time, but that shouldn't matter for most ppl.
