Surprised this isn't already posted.

I got there 15mins after they opened and the rack had been stripped of the 1600 point cards. I don't think there was a limit so more than likely someone grabbed them all first thing when they opened.

I don't blame them.

checkout the cheapassgamer boards

CC have been pulling them. changing the prices to 17.99 so they don't have to the give the deal for stores that still ahd them out or coming up with BS responses like you had to buy an elite to get it.

My local stores all showed instock at 8am. 30 minutes later every store with 20 miles became out of stock.

I went to my local CC this morning and there was only 1 1600 Points card on the shelves. I bought it with another accessory and the $20 promotion wasn't kicking in (probably because of their 10% off all accessories made each item less than $19.99). Eventually the sales clerk just rang up each item at $9.99.

My store had 3, so I bought the 3 cards and a XBL 12+1 card. After spending 15 minutes getting the cashier to read the ad my way, I came out of there with 4800 points and 13 months of XBL for $68...not bad at all.

Here's a repost of my own story from CheapAssGamer.com:

SUCCESS! Painful, time-consuming success! I'm not even sure it was worth it.

I ordered 4 of them online last week and went in this morning to pick them up and price match. Long story short, the following occurred within the 45 minutes-hour
-I was told they were part of a package
-I was told that they were not the same item
-I was told they were 17.99 therefore not valid
-I was told they were normally $30 and the price in the flier reflected the discount already
-I was left standing at the customer service desk while she went to talk to the manager no less than 3 times for a minimum of five minutes each time

I finally asked to speak directly to the manager, at which point she agreed to get him. After another 5+ minutes of the manager not coming to the front of the store, she took $37.99 (???) off the $84 I was originally charged for the online order. She said she was only taking $37 off because of the tax. I realize I was still charged more than I should have been, but at that point I didn't care.

I ALWAYS get shut out of the good deals because I'm not a savvy pricematcher or I can't argue with customer service because I don't want to get combative. I wasn't letting this one slide.

4 cards for $47 is still a darn good deal, even if I did get taxed twice. It works out to be close to my hourly rate so I'll just consider it another hour of work.

Deal should be good until Saturday (it's Circuit City's weekly ad).

My ordeal was relatively painless. I had ordered online the Friday before for in-store pickup in case it got sold out (which it did in many places!). I sauntered in Sunday around noon, grabbed a copy of the ad, went to see if the shelf had any cards which they didn't, then went to customer service to pick up my order.

I showed the lady the ad, told her I wanted to match the deal, she tried something like "Uhh... it looks like you have to..." and I knew she was going to say something about having to buy a Xbox Elite, so I immediately cut it off with "Hmmm... it just says I need to buy 2 of these items."

In the end, after refunding my online purchase and redoing the order, I ended up paying $17.99 each for 2 cards and $0.01 for the other 2 cards, so I actually ended up doing better than most

Wow. Do they pricematch their own ad? That reeks of bait and switch, especially considering the card is printed in the ad with the price, and on the big display boards in the store showing the ad.

They've changed the online ad. I suppose I could look for a paper one at an actual store.

Online ad as of 10:57 still shows the deal (save $20 when you purchase any 2 XBox Live accessories for $19.99 or more) and the 1600 card for $19.99. Must be good only in store, when I added 2 to my cart and went to check out, I did not get the discount.

Can't add them to your cart anymore from the website, and you can't buy them online for in-store pickup either. I went to my local CC, they had none. Tried the local Best Buy, and someone had beaten me there -- when I asked if they had any, they said some guy had just bought all of them. Went to Wal-mart, and they had a ton, but they wouldn't price match because of the way the deal was set up.

I went back to CC and tried to order them, and eventually found some in stock at another store not too far away and bought them there. It took about 15 minutes of "discussion" with the manager for him to sell me them at $9.99 each...at first he said I had to buy the console, then that they weren't an accessory, but eventually he gave in and sold them to me.

Another possibility is to try to get them to apply the discount to the $25 Zune cards. They are good on XBox Live, but only come in $25, so it's not as good of a deal if they'll honor it on them. However, it's better than not getting any, and the store had about 100 of the $25 cards (2000 points). I asked the manager if he would price match them, and he said no, but I'm sure the more experienced Hot Deals members could probably convince the manager to do it.

My local CC was out of stock so I went to customer service and had them do a special order which should be in later this week. Others that are having trouble may want to try this as well. Thanks for posting this OP!
