My local store still had the USB lights in stock according to the CC website, so I ordered one. I assume the $5 rebate is only good if you buy at Best Buy and there is no other rebate available to make this free?

Looks like I am the only one in this thread interested in the mouse. Anyway, I went to the store and bought one today. Good looking and about half the size of a normal mouse. It has a lens that looks like a small headlight on top that stays dim like a nite light when not in use and then lights up brightly when in-use. And like someone else said Everything relative to the rebate prints out at the register.

No Colie, you're not the only one interested in the mouse. I went to two CCs last night after work and they were all gone.

I knew I should've drove to CC the minute I saw the ad on Sunday. Anyway, I special ordered both the light and the mouse during lunch today. They said that it should arrive by Thursday.

Went out to pick up the light but it was gone everywhere. I guess I was too slow. Anyway, i picked up the mouse instead. I dont know if i'll keep it though since I dont really need it and its a bit odd. Everytime i scroll with the wheel then it goes up 1/4 a page before it actually goes down. Plus the usb cable on it is really really thin and cheap so i'm scared i'll just end up busting the cable.

But for $5 then its quite a deal since it is a 3 button optical. So i'll mess with it for a day and see how that goes. But i'm really pissed I didnt get the light. Dang...

For stuff like this that is free (or almost free) at CC, you really should check their online site for stock before going to the store, and probably even place the online order to ensure that they have one for you when you get there. In my case, 2 of the 3 stores on my list (as well as direct ship) show it as being out of stock. Fortunately, the 3rd store claims to have it, so I placed an order yesterday and my wife is hopefully picked it up about 30 minutes ago (I assume she did, I would have heard from her if they didn't have it in stock). They still claim to have it available according to their website.

I went to the local CC store. They said they were out. Went home and ordered it for in-store pickup at that very store. The same thing happened with some headphones. They don't seem to want to check their stock I guess, unless you "harass" them into doing it.

My wife had to wait 15 minutes for them to find it for her this afternoon, as usual one full day was not enough time for them to pull the order and have it ready for pickup. And you actually did not have to go home -- you could have gone to their broadband center and ordered it there! Wouldn't that have been great, to go give the order printout to the person who said "we don't have any"!

I tried this out this evening. It's very cool, and much brighter than I expected. I have it hooked up to a USB hub on my desktop machine, and it's serving as a min-desk lamp for my PC since my machine is in my bedroom and my wife is asleep and all I have is a 60 watt bulb next to my bed. This is perfect for when I need to read some stuff while at the PC, I don't have to swing around to look under the bed light.
