Found these while going through their online Outlet. Went into the store and had the sales rep scan to confirm. It's still marked $39.99 on the floor, but rang up $9.99. YMMV but not a bad deal on a spindle.

Not really, if they are. The last two packs of CMC I got were completely unusable. When they would be recognized by a burner (which wasn't a given), they'd end up with data corruption on the outer 15% or so of the disc--looking at the disc would show physical imperfections--one spindle had the same fingerprint on the outer edge of every disc.

Definately CMC. But atleast they'll let me save the Kodaks that I stocked up on (before they stopped making them) for important stuff.

I remember a couple weeks ago, Office Depot had these on sale for $11.99 100pack AR. I was going to pick these up, not knowing that $11.99 was AR price. But I don't do rebates, so after they rang up over $22, I said no thanks and left. I was already there with some friends who were getting a phone, so it wasn't a wasted trip, just happened to be there.

Anyways.. this is a good price on these, and I need some CD-R's too.

Music CD mixes, VCD/SVCD, Dreamcast, etc. There are still a few uses... but for data, you're absolutely right.

You would use CMC CD-Rs for music, VCD/SVCD, Dreamcast? You're daring/brave.

I had one that did that even on pressed originals. On some of them, the laser just isn't good. T-Y (or better, Verbatim/MCC) media should be fine for DC stuff. Good luck even booting a CMC disc in a DC though.

I'll gladly use CMC for my music. I keep it all in multiple places and tend to make new disks whenever I get new music. If a disk goes bad, no biggie, I just burn another.

for this price, i'll take some failures with the 100 pk. And I was just gonna say, I have a dvd burner, and only use it for dvd movies. My cdrs get used up much quicker.
