not quite. I purchased 2 drives from 2 stores. I submitted their rebates. 2 weeks from now I'm sure my wife will say I have to return 1 of the drives. Can't return the drive whose box is missing 2 holes (upc/capacity sticker) so I have to return the unopened pristine boxed drive.

a better idea?

buy the CC drive and the OfficeMax drive. send in all 4 rebates (use UPC from OM drive for one CC rebate). so you get two 120gb HDs for $50 + tax? $25 each. only thing that might kill it is one rebate per household?

For the people who have called to check the validity of the rebates: good for you. Those angry at you "killing" the deal have some issues. It's called being careful. $70 isn't a bad deal, but I'd only go in on it if it were a sure fire thing. I'd be the next person on the phone if I hadn't seen the results on the forum. I'll be in on the OM deal this sunday though!

I received the 2mb cache version with an option to upgrade the warranty to 3 years for $19.95, Only the $10 and $80 rebate printed at the register. The $60 wouldn't print. I'll use the form from the website. I will get my deal.

edit- The web site still shows it as 4-30 though.

I will return mine $159.99+$13.59 - $80 (MIR) - $10 (MIR) = $83.58 Final Cost.

NO! that is NOT what I am saying. I have screen caps of the web pages involved with all the necessary rebates listed, including a screen cap of EACH rebate, a web save of each rebate, and a hard copy of each rebate, AND all of the above for the main page as well. Nothing illegal going on here =)

at this point now that theyve changed dates and removed stuff from site... i dont see how it is any more valid than a price mistake on any other website?

all they have to do is say 'oops we entered 30 instead of 23' and that its not valid. i doubt this will be honored. but for those of you who bought it, i hope it is
