Pretty simple. If I get a letter back from Young America I go into my local CC and have me refund the missing Rebate. I doubt they have a case to deny it.

Western Digital 120GB EIDE for $70 shipped after rebate 9:18 am
A reader notes that CircuitCity.com offers the Western Digital Caviar 120GB EIDE UltraATA/100 7200 rpm internal hard drive, model no. WD1200BBRTL, for $159.99. A pair of mail-in rebates, totaling $90, knock the net price to $69.99. With free shipping, that's $30 off our last mention and the lowest total price we've seen for a drive of its size. Offer ends April 26, 2003. Note: The $80 mail-in rebate and $60 mail-in rebate both require the original UPC, so they can not be combined. The $10 mail-in rebate requires only a copy. tell a friend

I think the deal posted by The Diggler to purchase it from OM is a better deal ~$40 as you don't have to worry if you're gonna get both $60 and $80 rebates.

Frankly, all we need to know is that the web page has listed three rebates for this item, and none precludes the other from being used. At that point, it becomes a fight, assuming that they are willing to take up the fight Gather together all the necessary information, web page print outs and even save the pages as well. Insodoing, you should have no problems holding CC/rebate company to the fire. But of course, IANAL, just a mildly psychotic dealsniper.

Again, they could have posted a zillion rebates but if each one states you have to submit the original UPC then how are you going to force them to do anything. YOU didn't submit two original UPCs.

Oh, and if you speak to "someone" from Young America, get their name and PID#. The name 'Susan' ain't gonna cut it when you call back. There's probably 1500 people in that rebate center since they handle more than just CC.

I had this same deal with a Fry's 160GB Wd. I had a $80 and $60 as well. I gave the $60 one a copy of the UPC and explained the Original was with the $80 rebate. I then included a copy of my $80 form. I DID get both!

You can only process 1 of the rebates..either $60 or $80 but not both. Yeah you get the $10 from CC but not all three

exactly, because MORONS LIKE YOU kept on calling and red flagged the deal. Thanks for killing the deal for yourself and all of us.

I don't understand why people call? CC posts all 3 rebates on the site, all you have to do just send in the rebates, if the rebate is denied, then go back to CC and show them the original page w/ the 3 rebates and ask them to credit you.

I know you are a newbie, but come on, use common sense.

I picked up mine and it's already almost full, lol, I'm gonna try for all three rebates and if the 60$ gets denied, looks like i'll be burning a lot of porn so i can return the drive

what you guys fail to realize is that the website never claims any price after the rebates. It simply says the drive price of $159.99 and then lists three rebates that are valid for this drive. There is nowhere on the page that it says you will get a $10 price after mail in rebates. If this were the case, it would explicitly state that. It never says anywhere that you can take advantage of all three rebates. I would bet money that you wont be able to get all three rebates. May be worth it for some to return the drives.

I called the rebate center and was told that they will only honor one of the rebates. I'm sorry if someone thinks that I killed the deal by calling the rebate center, but I personally did not want to risk spending $160 up front so that I could wait 6-8 weeks or whatever it is, just to be denied the rebate and end up with a hard drive i didn't really need that badly in the first place, for $60 more than I had expected to pay. If I had gotten the "OK" from the rebate center, and had written down the name of the person I spoke with, I would have a lot more ground to stand on when trying to fight for my rebate. Without that, I would rather not take my chances, there are better deals out there.

edit: make that $175 up front including tax.

Anyone know if the $80 rebate for this drive is the same for $80 rebate for OM this weekend?

A friend bought one of these drives from circuit city a few days ago (he is gonna try to return and get the rebates) and although they are labled as 2mb cache - they came with a paper insert that said the packaging is wrong and they are 8mb...now I am not saying they all are - but there is a chance so keep your fingers crossed! I have mine waiting for my at my local CC after work!

I just opened the box with the same note - 8 MB cache!

This is hotter than the recent make money Amazon Systemworks 2003.

Thanks poopygood

WDC warranty status

Why? What does it say your warranty is? I bet it's still 1 year.

Then you would loose your bet MY SN showed no warranty on WD web site. So I called their toll free number and they told me that my warranty is valid till 1/6/2006.. So I basically got a free upgrade to 8mb version and 3 years warranty

Awsome, I hope I get the 8MB version. From my past experiences, I'll probably get the 2MB version.

No, it's the 2 mb cache one.

I can't believe I got one!!! All of the stores in my area were sold out, so an hour ago I checked again and one had them back in stock! I quickly placed my order and went to pick it up. The manager who checked me out told me they went superfast today. Only two rebate slips printed with the sale, but he told me, "Go to the internet site and you can download a third to use."

SWEET deal!

Right....sure I'm a MORON for checking out the deal. Guess I should just buy the 12x5x18 inch leather carryon that was posted yesterday cause it's on AT. Hello, I've got a brain!!!

Okay, how bout this-
Buy a drive from OM. Their $80 rebate only needs the Capacity sticker NOT the UPC. Then cut the capacity sticker and the upc from ONE box, submit copies of receipts and return the unused drive???
