Circuit City - WD 120GB for $10 AR ?!

There is an active discussion in a FW thread concerning the rebates on this deal. Lot's of people have called the WD rebate center and have been told that there is no record of their rebate submission. Latest speculation is that Young America is intentionaly holding the rebates until they figure out who will pay, WD or CC.

dammit i got NOTHING. not even a $10 rebate. either that or maybe my friend swallowed it. now i kinda regret it. gonna sell drive for $100 (haha), but still losing $60!!!!!

I got the 10$ and my 80$ is listed as sent (6/1/03 est) No sign of the 60$ at all. If worse comes to worse Ill contest the charge on my cc

I got the $60 check 6/21 and the $80 rebate which was listed as shipped 6-01-2003 est. has changed to shipped 6-20-2003.

Go to the western digital website and click on the rebate link. Look over there and you will find the $80...no sign of the $60 rebate though!

Got my $80 check yesterday. Only problem is that western digital misspelled one character of my name. I deposited my check anyway at ATM. Let's see if bank notices it.

I called western digital rebate centre about a month ago when they sent an email that my rebate is in process and had a misspelled name in the email. The agent said he fixed the name. Jerk..

Just called, since I neither seen the 80$ or the 60$ (10$ came a couple weeks ago).

The don't show in the system... blah blah blah.... call again in a week... maybe then.... blah blah blah.... then resubmit them.... blah blah blah....
But but... I have delivery confirmation on all 3 rebates and they show delivered... mhhhh.... looooong silence.

Wow.. I'm certainly glad that I didn't hop in on this deal. I waited and they had the +$27 deal a few weeks later with the 120SE drive. Involved a price match to Circuit City from Best Buy. I've received both ($20 and $80) rebates already too. I don't mind taking a 120SE drive and putting $27 in my pocket.

Sorry if this seems like a brag post. It just sucks that Circuit City is being d*cks about this. Hope you get it resolved.

Just got off the phone with WD rebate center, spoke with Jamie.
She was immediately aware of the situation I was speaking of and assured me that it was not that these submissions are getting lost but that they are behind due to blah blah blah.

It is apparent that their website tracking is a joke since there is no record of the rebate they sent me last month, but she was able to track it while we spoke.

Me too. I got my $80 yesterday and the $10 a few weeks ago. The $80 showed up on the WD tracking site and was pretty accurate for me.

After 8 weeks and no checks, I sent a complaint to Young America (the company handling the $60 and $80 rebates) and was responded to by the VP of Client Services. She kindly offered to take care of my checks immediately once I got her copies of my submissions, and seemed genuinely interested in my concerns.

I figured that while I have her attention, it might be a good time to let her know that based on discussions here and at FW, there appears to be a pattern of high-dollar Western Digital rebate submissions being lost by Young America and never entering their sytem. So for what it's worth, if anyone wants me to add their name to my next letter to her, just send name, address & email to me at derpr0fi@hotmail.com

I got the $10 but no sign of $60 and $80 as per most other peoples previous posts. nothing showed up on rebate tracking either, but I am thinking that it may be still coming, I also sent a copy of the page with all three rebates listed and highlighted those items and sent them in the same envelope with orig receipt and UPC so I don't see how they could deny that. peace.

This morning I got a single $140 check via UPS Next Day. I also heard from one of the other guys whose name & address I included in my letter to Young America's VP of Client Services and he said he received a single big check as well. Woo hoo!

Trust me i have a good feeling that it will be honored because lot of people got $60.00 + tax back. They have to honor it.

If I was a circuit city manager and this screw up occurred I would wiggle my way out of it to pointing to several fine points. Then after that I would call someone in the corporate offices and bitch them out.
