there is no SET command on the 806!

the Sho ver command indicates:

how about just typing ? at the command prompt? Or trying under configuration mode?

It works on the 803 I have here. Does ther version of IOS on the box support NTP? If yes setup NTP and get a more accurate clcok setting. If it doesn't support NTP I'm not sure what to suggest. The clock set command you're using is still supported in 12.2 it may be that the 806 doesn't have a hardware clock?

I just did a bit more digging and came up with 806 Configuration which includes a section on NTP configuration. You can configure it to look at a server from here Public NTP Servers.

Maybe its the command clockrate. That is what it is on my 2501 and 1601.

The clock rate command is used to set the clocking on serial interfaces at the DCE end of the link. Guyver01 wants to set the system clock.
