Are the hospitals staffed?

I'm not sure...how do you check this? When you click on them they don't pop-up an employment figure like the businesses do.

I've heard polluted water supply can do this. Check to make sure you're not pumping up sewage anywhere.

Water supply is pristine. I only have waste treatment plants, and there is no ground pollution in the area. I checked my capacities for everything in the area - - fire, police, water, pollution, health, noise, etc....all well above capacity. I'm really racking my brain on this one. It's been several weeks and all but one of the clinics shows "0" patients treated, and the other only shows "1."

Some of the buildings where people are getting sick are directly adjacent to the clinics - and still no ambulances ever leave the facilities.

I'm throwing in the towel on this. As much as I've searched, it doesn't seem like anybody else is having this problem.

Now I have two entire land blocks where medical clinics do not work. Dead bodies are piling up, because my crematorium hearses refuse to pick them up. They drive out, take an exit to the highway, and drive to another land block.....driving RIGHT BY units with dead bodies without picking them up.

Do you want to share your save file so we can take a look?

Did you make sure the streets that dead bodies are on is not one way? They won't pick up if one way.

I would but I scrapped all my saves and just started over again. So far I haven't run into the issue....yet.

Yes. All the highways were either bi-directional 4 or 6-lane. Very little traffic congestion.

Problem with dead bodies can be solved as i know only like i did:

When u build cementary u get problem, that instead of 10 vehicles , there are only 2 in use. So i build 20 cementary x 2 trucks =40 trucks.

There are never active 10 vehicles per one cementary. 2 vehicles are max. Its a game bug. Try this solution, works for me. I build this far away from city, so my city still looks nice

I've noticed the 2-hearse bug as well, even if I max the health budget. I have an unrealistically high number of crematoriums for my small city to keep up.....looks like I'm running some kind of sinister community.

Is that a bug or were there less than 20 bodies to be picked up? I have so many and they go all around the city, it's hard to keep track of what they are doing.

This game is amazing.

It also brutalizes my CPU. I've never felt so much heat coming out my case before.

Sprawling, that's all I have to say.

How much time did you put into it?

Probably ~100 hours of game time. It helps to have a fast CPU otherwise the sim speed slows down and it becomes difficult to continue expanding simply due to how slow things move. Even that city makes my 5960X chug. I hope a future patch enables scaling across 8 cores because right now the game maxes out at 4.

doesnt matter how good my intentions or foresight is, i am a TERRIBLE city planner!
This game is very complex, easy to lose dozens of hours. If the traffic gets wonky though...it's quite frustrating.

I HATE this thread -- always makes me want to fire the game up again!

I do the same. And then when I do, I get pissed and impatient, and all my roads look like a plate of spaghetti.

I am all wired up with instant gratification games like BF4. DAMNIT, why can't I just lay down highways EVERYWHERE! !! ?!?!

Yeah I stopped playing months ago after investing dozens of hours, there are just too many rough edges. My main gripe is with the pathetic car/service AI. I had a beautiful system of one-way 6-lane roads, yet parts of my my industrial sector would continually burn down because the fire trucks would patiently wait in line using the clogged right-most lane instead of using the other available 5 to leap-frog to their destination. Delivery trucks and other service vehicles used the same "logic". I might as well have replaced my 6-lane roads with 2 lanes for all the good they did.

It's a shame because this game has such great potential, but they clearly cut corners.

The emergency logic does need to be fixed so they have priority and cars get out of the way.

Looks like they'll be releasing the first DLC (After Dark) in Sept. They are adding a day/night cycle and it'll effect the flow of everything. You can also schedule services to occur during the night to ease traffic during the day. There's also other things like taxis and bikes.

I'm waiting to the expansion and then I will start a new city. Also, if traffic is not improved, I'll go with the mod "Traffic++", as I've read that seems to improve lane utilization.

Finally started playing this game after owning it since launch. ADDICTIVE!

Is it normal for garbage and dead people to be out of control with 14,000 population?

I have 2 dumps, incinerator and a modded recycling center yet I still get some pile ups and they dumps are always full. Ditto for the cemetery and crematory.

I wouldn't use mods until you play the vanilla game because there's a lot of mods that ruin the challenge of the game.

To answer your question though, no. If the dumps are full, you've either got insufficient processing capacity or they can't reach the dump. Ditto for the crematory.

Seems like After Dark fixed a lot of this. The key really is to have industry and service buildings near major highways and trains.
