Very good. It does what Simcity 4 + Rush Hour did and then a bit more. Nothing groundbreaking but solid. It's fun for building the city but not very challenging since you usually have enough money.

£16 at greenmangaming, im pleased so far! Its the first real city simulator since sc4. Simcity 5 was a small town simulator... at best! Cities XL was a fancy graphical tool for creating something that looked like a city but with no deep simulation going on.

Liking this so far

Just grabbed in GMG, as well as Magicka2 preorders.

I'll drop a word after it's installed.

After I noticed that garbage trucks cause a lot of traffic, I am moved all landfills and incinerators to a dedicated 6-lane garbage loop right off the freeway. And it seems to be working well. It has definitely reduced traffic in the areas that previously had landfills and incinerators.

So far, a lot of fun. I like the feel much better than Sim City Online, reminds me of the earlier games.

Yea, I have that issue when I had 6 at the same spot on a 4 lane road. I spread them out a bit so it's not too much of an issue. I'll keep thisin mind if there another issue.

Anyone try hard mode? Know what it changes?

Bump. Unbelievable no responses to this post.

In any case, Paradox is allowing some streamers to play the game and is allowing Youtube videos starting today. Game launches in a week.

Reddit posters are loving what they see so far.

BTW, GMG has the Deluxe version for $29.19 with VIP discount. I'm grabbing it tonight.

It's so hard to get excited for PC gaming these days, everything is so hyped up and the delivery is so mediocre.

I just want one damn good builder game before I die that I can invest a few hundred hours into.

"Uhh, Boss, i think you took the "incinerator" a little to literally"

You know a game's addictive when you are planning your city as you fall asleep.
(yes I am guilty)
I have the standard grid style city sorted out, now I need to work on the aesthetics and thinking outside the box.
I think though that the first mod I am installing is to stop the bird's tweets.

If you care about the achievements or not, there is a mod that will enable them again as well as by default it turns off the achievements when using any mods

One question I do have, anyone know how to bring up the Commercial Happiness? Right now I have all of them up to 95-96% except fro commercial which is stuck at 78%

This is why the burbs and crap cities don't flow well, they left the grid so their city planners could "think outside the box"

which then gave us Cul-de-sac's and the ability to be at the corner of a street name and the same street name

I'm really starting to feel the scale here. This is probably about ~5 tiles worth of construction. I can't imagine how big 25 tiles will feel - I'll be building small surrounding towns that will be a part of the "metro area".

Loving the camera mod too!

What is the name of the mod that enables them again? I do not need mods to make the game easier but turning off that darn bird is pretty much mandatory to save my sanity.

Edit... Nevermind I found it. Howerver I hear it has bugs. I will just deal with Chirpy for now.

Found a neat mod for traffic info. If you pick a car, it'll show it's route. You can search for Report Tool. Think the full name is traffic report tool.

How's the performance with huge cities? I just picked it up after watching some videos. Looks like old school simcity with some great additions. I'm only gaming on a GTX 640 until the new cards launch, so I'm hoping it will run it.

My framerates have been butter smooth except for in the "two rivers" map, which ran slow from the start. I suspect the number of trees is to blame, as turning graphics settings from max down to minimum didn't help.

I started building like if it was SimCity 2000 and now with 30K population managing traffic is a nightmare lol

also the game started freezing once I built a train station (cargo), and I had to force DX9 to fix it... apart from that, great game so far...

Just got my airport. I put it really far away, though right off the freeway and linked a train station to it. Too bad its Sunday night.

So far my only semi-major frustration is the highways. I absolutely hate having to do each direction separately. I can see how that would be beneficial in some situations, but for grid builders like myself it's just supremely annoying. At the least, I would like to be able to change the direction of the flow after construction so I don't have to sit there trying to line it up with the other section of highway.

I also find the on ramps to be rather picky. Half of them it will let me upgrade to 2 lanes, half it won't. It insists the grade is too steep.

i5 4570 + r9 280x

Ive been very impressed so far. Max city size ive had is only 100k though. I remember SC4 chugged on release so this games performance is a breath of fresh air. Sorry ive got no FPS numbers or anything.
