I wish you could visit other people's (friends?) cities. Like you could in SC.

While these screenshots are awesome to look at, I want to fly down/around your cities. See what makes them work (or not). Steal some ideas.

THAT is a functionality they need to bring to this game -- if you save your city in the Steam Cloud, then it should be able to be viewed/explored.

You can share your saves on the workshop so this is already in the game.

Wasn't there a feature in SC2K whereby you could instigate some sort of natural (or unnatural) disaster. Anything like this in CS?

I'm guessing the Mod scene might end up adding this along the lines.


One thing I would really like to see from an eye-candy standpoint is night time to be added. City XXL (and maybe others?) had it, and it added some gorgeousness to the game.

Paradox is my favorite developer/publisher.

But to each their own, I guess you prefer EA or Origin.

There is no need to offend me.

I tried to play EU3 at release and it was incredibly buggy. Went on devs forum where essentially everyone was having the same, multiple problems. Not proper bugs, but design errors. Such as Jingoism causing revolutions everywhere which were impossible to stop, even in test-bed scenarios. And social advancements also being completely borked. And cultural relationships / sphere of influence being totally broken.
Such as playing Japan, having a flawless, blitzkrieg-like victory over the totality of Korea, *perfect* relations with china over every single turn ever, and BAM ! war with china, revolutions everywhere, cost of army quadruples, starvation with plenty of food, korea still being a political player..

if you have not experienced these, you didn't play EU3 at launch (or in the following months).


Incidentally, since i'm on a roll ..

I played M&B since early builds - they didnt even call it alpha or beta. The early M&B was WAY better than what was released. Lances were much stronger, combat was faster and deadlier, riding worked better.
Equipment was much more balanced.
This is back when a strong lance cost 249 gold. Idk if you have ever played it, but let's assume you did.

Then - i dont directly blame paradox, because i dont know if they were involved.. but i have my suspicions - they took what was essentially a long demo, and tried to make a full game out of it, by adding a few *very* minor details (a couple more lines of dialogue and 2-3 more brown screens), and a ton of totally unbalanced equipment which required re-balancing everything else, thus screwing everything up.
This, instead of actually building a new, real game. The very definition of polishing a turd is M&B, with the later releases (Fire&Steel) being higher on the turdiness and even lower on the polish.

Sorry but i dont trust Paradox.

Hey maybe you can get Deep Silver* to do bug testing for them. Im sure that would guarantee success.

There are several things I hope gets added with the help of Free DLC or mods:

More Park/recreation options
More Mass Transit Options (elevated trains/charlie trains or trams)
Bike Paths/Bike stations
Hiking trails
More zoning options between Urban/Suburban residential
Terraforming
Better building models for large office and com buildings and school/recreation.

All of this I am sure will be added later. I'm pretty sure the dev's said they're working on more mass transit options for later.

I would like more "management" of some of the services too -- like rather than plopping down more schools, why can't I just expand them like in SC?

Finally broke 100K. No way I'm going to get to 1 million with the 9 tiles, I'll aim for 250K.

Do offices count for commercial demand or are the just jobs?

Industrial. I have 0 heavy industry in my city, all offices. F that pollution and big rig traffic.

My peeps are all educated, all the heavy industry was abandoned or full of over educated workers.

This game is fun! I like it. I don't normally buy early access because I don't like burning myself out on non-finished games ruining the finished game for myself, but the buzz on this game was just too good so I grabbed it. Between this and Banished I feel we've got some pretty solid and diverse City Builders recently, I'm liking where the genre has gone.

I found out last night actually they have mods out for sport fields, arenas, and alike on the steam workshop. I wish the game would tell us percentage wise, how much they increase the happiness.

The mod workshop needs a little work IMO. Most of the items on there are not categorized. Users are suppose to be adding tags, but I imagine are not required too. I loaded a lot of the models up last night and a lot of them don't have the menu images for the in-game GUI.

Didn't come across that problem yet, but I imagine like Sim City you go bankrupt and fail.

At the least it's good to see that this game has put the final dirt over the corpse of what was called the latest sim city game.

I'm pretty sure I saw this picture under the "what happens when I default on my loan" section of the manual.

You know water and sewer can be linked to the same pipe, right? I didn't realize that for the first few hours and thought they couldn't cross. My city's underground was turning into a puzzle game.
