Not to crap your thread dude, but I don't believe Auctions are allowed here and plus I've heard baaaaad things about Cityspree. Such as merchants won't accept certs that they sell.

1) Its effectively not an auction when you are the only one bidding on it.

2) ALL of my Cityspree certs worked fine for me in San Francisco.

(Yes ppl in other citys had problems) Great deal, but buyer beware.

Hmmn tempting I still have 3 GCs I need to mail back to CitySpree becuase the merchants claimed they never agreed to the terms and conditions ... But I have gotten a few good deals though, $6.75 for a $25 Pizza GC with free shipping - that was _HOT_

I agree, BE CAREFUL. I also had the same problem with a merchant denying the certificate. Still waiting for the money to be credited back to me. I have to admit though, I was tempted enough to try it again. How can you beat $15 for a one night stay in a great hotel? Not bad!

CitySpree is SUCK!!!!

They have the worst customer service (or rather a complete lack thereof). Over a dozen emails and phone calls have been un-answered. I gave up.

I have used 3 Cityspree certificates so far, the 1st 2 were accepted
without any problem. Last time, the manager came out and said that
Cityspree had violated the terms of the agreement, sold too many, blah
blah, blah. But he still gave me $42 off the meal for a certificate that
I paid $12.50 for, so I was happy. The face value was $50.

I have 3 more, so I guess I'll try them. Not sure if I should ask
ahead of time, or wait until after the check comes.

I've used several cityspree gc and for what I spent I've pleased. After hearing the problems others were having, I called each of the merchants that I still had certificates for and all were very adamant that they were accepting the certificates...a little too so, like they'd had a call from a cityspree attorney.

I don't reccommend buying masses of these, but definitely to buy any for immediate use. Just choose those that you feel are worth the risk...let's see, I might get $100 worth of KooKooRoo (for a party) for only $17...or cityspree might go out of business before they mail the certificate to me...since KooKooRoo is an established company I think they'll honor the certificate under the terms even if cs goes under. That's a risk I'll take.
