My Moo2 disc broke last year, so I am on a withdrawal from that. I will have to purchase another copy soon.
Subspace/Continuum probably has the most hours of my life sucked away.

I am currently addicted to Ultima 7. Which is funny because I also have Skyrim and others unfinished, but I continue to go back to the nearly 20 year old game in my spare time. I remember playing it as a kid, but I never got into it because I could never figure out how to open doors. There is no documentation anywhere on how to do it. I had to watch a youtube video to figure out that you had to double-click them. You dont have to double-click anything else in the game.

Planescape: Torment!

Super Mario!

Ocarina of Time!

Damn, the 90s are the undisputed king of gaming eras...

My best friend got a job at one of the first ever software stores, so since the 286SX days, I played nearly every PC game made in those years.

X-Wing was probably my favorite, followed by Darklands. Had alot of fun with the Ultima and Might and Magic series also.

No that came afterwards, tiberian dawn -> tiberian sun -> C&C 3 -> C&C 4.

Its commonly known as C&C 95 or C&C 1 though.

C&C was a DOS game though. They later re-released it for Windows95, but I only had the initial DOS version.

Um,
Sentinal Worlds 1

Just to name a few.

I thought I was one of the only people who loved that old game. I still break it out and play it every now and then. I can probably beat it in a few days now, but I think I played that game for months when I was a kid trying to beat the game. I also felt really dumb, because I never figured out how the boss fights worked when I was a kid, then when I found the game again 10 years later, I suddenly realized how it worked.

Since you weren't specific for what platform.

Mattel Handheld football game [same model as shown in the original Tron].
Most [popular] games for the Atari 2600/5200 - too many to list.
Most [popular] games for the C-64 - too many to list.
Quite a few games for the Apple 2 [which I used after school] - popular EA games, etc.
Quite a few for the TI-99/4A [Parsec, etc]
Dungeon Master and Alien Breed 3d for Amiga 500 [and a few other games..]

PC Games:

I started getting into PC games about the time MYST was released. I use to hate playing it on my parents PC as it would crash during access to the optical disk.

The regulars: SimCity, Descent, Diablo, Doom, Quake

And I was also into some of those puzzle games like myst and investigative games like tex murphy style (pandora directive, under a killing moon, etc...)

I played megarace a lot (I think it was a 3DO game ported to PC)

Earlier than that was an cheesy commodore 64 arcade pacs like with games like mario brothers and donkey kong.

I was born in 1994 so, I wasn't into gaming when these games were new, but I've taken up classic gaming more recently.

Doom (II), Quake (II, III), Heretic, Hexen, Starcraft (Just started playing it yesterday ), SimCity and I think I once played Myst when I was very young.
BTW, there was this old-ass DOS Adventure/RPG that I played a couple of times that I would like some help with remembering what it was. One of the only details I can remember is that early-on in the game, you find a scene where a "Murder most foul" occurred and there was a hammer lying in a pool of blood.

Some of the oldest games I remember playing..

Wizardry Series (I didn't start playing them til around 88 or so when I got an 8088 for xmas)
Mean Streets (circa 1989)
Police Quest series (Surprised they haven't been mentioned yet)
And an honorable mention for Daggerfall since I wasted endless hours in that game when it came out, as buggy as it was. I can still hear the guards yelling "Halt!"

Half-life is pre 2000? wow I'm getting old! That and TFC/CS were the shit back in the day! I used to like Duke Nukem, the original Doom, and Wolfenstein to name a few.

Sentinal Worlds was one of my favorites for the time as well. I always wished there would be a sequel, but it never happened (to my knowledge). There are some parallels to games like ME2, but not close enough for my tastes.

I haven't seen Outpost 2 mentioned. It was an interesting premiss. You had to setup up a base each mission and then start going after your objective. By the end of the mission you had to pack up since the world was slowly being destroyed. The combat was meh but the SP was good. Didn't have a chance to try multiplayer back then.

At one time, my dad took the time to map out the entire final base. He drew every single one of those repeating map sections out on graph paper. I also remember my first time in the underwater volcano, I had such impressive visions of what that looked like in my head.
