Over the last few weeks the interior of the driver and rear windows of my 9-3 have become rather dirty with a foggy film. Its only visible if direct light is on the window. Anyone know of a tool or method (besides Windex and elbow grease) to get them quickly clean?

Isopropyl alcohol spray (often marketed as eyeglasses cleaner) + paper towels. Or the alcohol towelette/wipe form if you have them in a first aid kit or something

It's relatively streak free that way, but usually Windex/ammonia does just as good a job for me.

Water, with a splash of white vinegar works for me. I generally use a chamois since it seems to do a great job without leaving streaks.

soap and water. Finish off with windex.

WRONG. DONT USE WINDEX. The Ammonia will eat your film and or tint.

Some really good stuff that leaves my windows looking amazing, I think its called 19 oz. Invisible Glass aerosol glass cleaner. AMAZING

I agree on Invisible Glass.

The important thing is to make sure, with any cleaner, to get them wiped as thoroughly as you can when you finish. I actually generally use a regular cloth towel once they are pretty dry.

:hmm: hmm... I'll have to give this a shot. Now I just need to find some newspaper :awe:

Lucky... I have my choice of free periodicals that forcibly get delivered to my house every week. It'll be a grand day when these jokers finally throw in the towel, and realize home delivered news is obsolete.

absolute horrible advice. please stop reading forwarded chain mails.

What makes her an authority? I have just as much credibility as she does, and I say it works great. Also, why wouldn't you recycle the newspaper after you use it for cleaning? It isn't like they re-release the paper for people to read. It gets pulped, and made into new paper. Having it crumpled with window dirt doesn't affect it's recyclability.

I've used dozens of products and I always come back to the can of Stoners Invisible Glass. (Haven't tried their new spray bottle version)
Easy to find and gets the job done better than anything else I've used.

Edit: And you don't need any tools. Just some good microfiber towels and the Stoners. Guess you could use one of those sponge on a stick things if you're really lazy or not flexible enough to get to all the windows.

i use newspaper when i have it, but i also have some decent lint free shop towels that i carry for work use. those are great for it as well. and the link just said the newsprint could bleed on the framing of the mirror, not that it doesnt clean mirrors/ windows well. and you can still recycle after you use it to clean glass.

i have a random ammonia-free glass cleaner that i generally use for mirrors/ windows, when i can remember where i left it. works pretty well, cant remember what its called tho.
