don't know if this is nation wide or just local but for the past 3 weeks at the boynton beach super target, boynton beach blvd at hagen ranch road i have been getting clearance beer, the first week it was busch light so no big deal but this week it was bottles, rolling rock, ESB, tecate, budwiser american ale, and a few others

I'd fix your title, but I like clearnace better.

We have a state min in Ohio. I'm not sure clearance beer is possible here.

What's the clearance pricing? I work in Boynton Beach.

That's not so great on pricing...maybe $2 off normal warehouses like BJ's and Costco.

Beer is more expensive at Sam's Club than at Kroger for me. We don't have other warehouse type stores where I live.

Typically 24 pack Bud is $17.50 or more where I live. The 18 packs are in the $13 - $14 range so it's a relatively hot deal for me.

I'm not paying to shop anywhere

I don't pay to shop at Costco. They pay me a small amount, small mainly since I don't shop there as much as I used to. They have the executive membership where you get 2% back on your purchases. This has never failed to more than recover the membership cost for me.

The biggest problem I see is that you're still getting Budweiser instead of something drinkable... As if that wasn't enough, since it's clearance beer, its probably been there a while and is most likely passed it's prime (although you could argue that it couldn't get much worse than when it's fresh).

I drink Budweiser when I'm out in the sun or need something other than bottles. The case had a born on date in April so they were fine.

I'm a homebrewer and mainly buy IPAs when I'm drinking microbrews. I currently have a Stone Ruination clone in the secondary. As much as I like good beer sometimes it good to drink a bud out of can. I know a lot of beer snobs who feel the same.

I guess I'm of the opinion that since doesn't taste very good (IMO), isn't healthy and doesn't quench your thirst on a hot day and is expensive (compared to something like water), there's no point in drinking it. Basically, the same reason I don't eat desserts that I don't like. But to each their own.

I'm wondering why these are on clearance if their born on date is in April? Is Target getting out of the business of selling beer or something? Anyway, if they're fairly fresh sounds like a decent deal out there (although where I'm from the local liquor stores have either Bud/Bud, Coors or Miller on sale every week for about that price.)

I wondered that myself. In my local target the beer wasn't refridgerated so I imagine that might be why it didn't sell very well (we aren't a super target).

i'll bet you belong to direct buy also

Equating Costco to Direct Buy is pretty ridiculous. Everything at Costco isn't cheaper than elsewhere so I would never buy everything I need there, but I do know that just the savings I get on buying milk there (compared to a grocery store) pay for the $50 membership fee several times over (assuming that it hadn't already been payed for by the savings I got on the set of tires for my car.)

I don't get the anti-costco/stuff. I figure most though probably are lucky to just have any beer money.

Just gas alone I save about $8 a week between my wife and I, the salsa we buy about every month is $3 less than Publix. Our clothes detergents are the same price for about 1/3 more loads. My dog's busy bones are about $1 each vs $2+ anywhere else at BJ's.

I get way more back than the $80 the memberships run and I do only a minor amount of my shopping there.
