Clinton may now fall victim to guilt by association

Mickey Kantor in 1993

Will Clinton endure the same crap that Obama has with Wright or will she escape controversy like McCain did with Hagee? I find this whole guilt-by-association process stupid and distracting. Clearly Clinton's association with this man does not imply an endorsement of all of his views just like Obama's association with Wright does not imply an endorsement of Wright's views (not that I have any sympathy for Clinton after she exploited Wright's comments).

I am an Obama supporter, and after viewing that video via Digg, and reading some more, I think:

Either some really stupid supporter completely independent of the Obama campaign doctored up the second part of that video, or

Second video (apparently first one released by someone else just said "Indianians are sh*t") was a prepared response from a deeply cloaked Clinton operative to change story line of something they knew was going to be released (instead of just being an "Indianans are sh*t" story), it is now discredited and everyone pretty ignores first part and just falls for race baiting part.

Can anyone read lips and go back to segment on actual film (apparently War Room in 1993) and see what second part really said. I read someone say it was initially something like how would you like to be in the White House now.

Wow, you obama people must be desperate to try something like this. First of all, it's not clear if the guy made the comment (see wiki on this guy), and second even if the guy made the comment, he was in BILL Clinton's campaign. This is 16 years later and someone else is running if you haven't noticed. Do you even know if Hillary Clinton knows the guy?

This is apparently originally YouTubed video which only said "Indianans are sh*t":
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-MzByUHIzw

Really gotta wonder whether second doctored video was put out by deeply cloaked Clinton operative to change story line?

It discredits video, people ignore first part, and I am guessing that race baiting will probably actually help Clinton in Indiana?

Kantor is apparently an informal advisor to current Hillary Clinton presidential campaign run.

Are you capable of separating blatent race baiting (second doctored video) from blind partisan politics?

If the MSM suddenly clings to this nonsense, I'm going to be sad at the state of the news. This is the stuff that causes political burnout in voters.

*IF* this story is true it wouldn't matter when it happened or if it was Bill's campaign because they're married. It's no different than Obama's wifes alleged unpatriotic comment or her thesis that's 20-some years old.

Personally I hate this crap from all sides. If true would this mean Hillary doesn't like Indianans? Of course not. Same with Obama and Wright. It's like the MSM wants to present the worst side of the candidates and let us choose the lesser of evils.

I was referring to first post of rchiu above.

This is a stupid story that will hopefully quickly just burn itself out on the Internet and fade away (cynic in me wonders whether it will cost him a couple points in Indiana on voting day).

If Hillary Clinton herself was caught on video saying "Indianans are sh*t" (even in 1992), I would think this story (without the second race baiting part) might be legitimately comparable to Obama's "cling to" comments.

Both were apparently taken out of context as I am reading that quote was something more like Indianans are sh*tty and Kantor was referring to polling and not people themselves.

Keep trying people.

Oh, and it's Hoosiers right? not Indianians.

It doesn't matter if Obama AGREES with Wright and Michelle on their gaffes. The guilt by association game isn't about thinking the candidate believes what their controversial lightning rod associate says, its about what position such a person holds in the candidate's life and the judgment related to that decision of associating with them.

Obama CHOSE to spend 20 years at the church with Wright as the pastor. Nobody really thinks Obama believes the US invented AIDS to kill blacks, pepole merely think Obama showed poor judgment in choosing to attend services for 20 years led by someone who DID advocate such insanity.

The difference between association and judgment seems to keep being conflated to get Obama off the hook. The hysterical strawman inserted: "You think Obama believes what Wright believes?" No, and that's not the issue. It's WHY associate with this person? Why invite them into your life and family inner circle? That IS a relevant question. If Obama pandered to Wright for votes, that's understandable and expected. But holding the jerk close to his heart makes no sense to people who see Wright for what he is. It's also why attacks on McCain for Hagee fall flat. Obama supporters on this forum just can't see it for some reason, while everyone else seems quite clear about it.

And so this "story" about Clinton is about as relevant as her shoe size.

And IMO your title should really read Obama may now fall victim to guilt by association. (Clinton advisor calls Indianans sh*t)

Good luck using Mickey Kantor to paint Hillary Clinton as a scary, Black man

How so?

Ayers and Bitter-gate are anti-Obama, whereas this is anti-Clinton.

This story will not get any play at all.

"Those people are shi**ing!"

Referring to repubs in the white house reacting to the unexpected loss of Indiana.

He then apologizes for the bad language and then says something like "He would get that..." referring to the cameraman catching him cursing.

Then something about, "How would you like to be in the white house..." to Steph, who shakes his head no in reply, because he wouldn't want to be there the way their election is going.

Referring to all of the bad news that must be arriving there about the voting.

I hear "What about Indiana? look at Indiana. It doesn't matter if we win. Those people are shit...How would you like to be [inaudible] White House right now"

[Edit] Though in the context, I understand how "These people are shitting" makes sense
