I strongly favor Bernie over Hillary, but I don't like seeing things like this happen. The pledged delegates should at least have some semblance of properly representing the primary/caucus results. Losing delegates because people didn't show up is a farce and if that stands it raises some very serious questions about the abilities of a small number of individuals to sabotage what's supposed to be a democratic process. Beyond what they already can anyway, obviously the superdelegates already have that potential function.
Speaking of which, Bernie's campaign has been talking about hoping to sway the superdelegates at the convention in order to make up for the pledged lead that Hillary will almost certainly have. That is of course insane, the superdelegate support for Hillary has been absolutely huge, AFAIK at unprecedented levels. To actually posit turning them away from a staunch establishment favorite
with more pledged delegates in favor of some guy whose entire political career was ran as an independent is totally insane. It's kind of embarrassing that they're even talking about this, makes the campaign look delusional. Although I suppose in theory something absolutely horrifying can be revealed about or happen to Hillary before then and that could force such a swing, but the odds are very low.
Pretty much since the started Bernie's supporters have been very unhappy with how strongly the superdelegates have supported Hillary and have pleaded with them to go with their state in the long term. I hope that the same people didn't decide it's now okay for them to go against their state if it's for Bernie.
