the pope is not a leader of the most powerful nation in the world and he is also atleast twice as old as buch so give him credit on that alone. a great leader is a great speaker, we as americans do not see how he leads in any other way then the way he presents him self in his speeches, and he looks like a buffoon in most speeches i have ever seen. i will grant him that the latest one he did quite well. i am not sure where he was but i think he may have been brought back to us via military aircraft i did not catch the beginning of the speech so did not catch the intro.

hahaha one day later and the political rhetoric starts again.

Queasy: don't you remember the Apache Missile attack? was that nothing? Also, Clinton was very active in foriegn affairs, negotiation, etc... Your statements are misguided and reflect a bias in your own partisan beliefs.

I took my political retoric out of my sig because this isn't the time. Others should follow. If Clinton was president I would be behind him 100%.

I saw Bill Clinton's comments as well. They didn't impress me much, there wasn't much substance to what he had to say. He's nobody now anyway, who cares?

<< I saw it too. Say what you will, you have to admit that Clinton does know how to speak persuasively >>

Of course he does, that's why he tried to convince the nation that...
1-he didn't inhale
2-he had no relationship with Monica Lewinski

But what have we learned from this all? He was a big liar....a good speaker, but a big liar...

And lets not forget, a heckuva a President. Despite his mishaps with Lewinsky, Clinton was absolutely a great President. I hope Bush does half as well.

Are the american people so nieve to believe that all politicians don't lie to our face? Clinton got caught. He wasn't the first. Although I am a Clinton supporter, this is Bush's time. It's time for him to prove himself.

Bigredguy,

The prepared speech from the White House was very well done by Bush.

Clinton's remarks seemed to consist nothing more of "I'm going back to New York, and I'm going to help whoever." That's great, Bill. It's a decent thing if you do it. But I don't see how it compares to anything Bush has said both in aspects of importance and effect.

you would rather he was like bush sr. who during desert storm destroyed many civilian areas during bombing of underground military installations that could only be destroyed by the trident missile, which we were not using?
i seem to think the asprin factory is small when compared to this. and the dame tactics that bush sr. used to get in that situation jr. now follows. but it does not matter bush followers will see only bad in clinton and bush bashers will see only bad in bush. there is little to be done about that. but during clintons era there was less bloodshed on our part and much greater economic prosperity.

and all of you bush/clinton haters have totally changed the original intent of this post and twisted it into something ugly and un-fun.

I am certainly not a fan of the current Bush, but I do think we should cut him some slack now. These Bush v. Clinton v. Lincoln v. whoever are ridiculous. Bush is the current leader of this country, and we all must depend upon him to do this best job possible.

I am also sick of people nitpicking on his conduct yesterday-he should have gone back to the White House, etc.-maybe a good public relations move but definately not wise to put the President in physical harm's way when Washington is underl attack, for Pete's sake.

I missed Bush's speeches yesterday-I couldn't handle the red "America Under Attack!" logos that were constantly on TV. Again, although I am certainly not a fan of the man, I personally think he is generally a very effective speaker. He has a way of (appearing) to speak straight from the heart and expresses his thoughts clearly. Admittedly, he is not the most inspirational speaker-but I'm not particularly looking for a feel-good spokesman right now.

And finally, since I'm on something of a tear, I'm REALLY sick of the constant "lets bomb the Arabs/Afgans/whoever back into the Stone Age NOW" mentality. While this is, in sense, a war, it is really more of a police investigation matter. Unlike Pearl Harbor, we have to first find out who did it & where they (and their supporters are) before action is taken. Give Bush, and more importantly, the FBI, etc. some time and resources to do the job. Anyone who knows anything about what they did in prior bigtime investigations, such as Lockerbie (sp?), the first WTC bombing, the African embassy bombings, and even (most of) the Oklahoma City bombing should rightfully be proud and amazed at the job they did.

To that I say: All is fair in love and war, unlike Clintax who bombed those factories to postpone his hearing in front of the Grand Jury during the Lewinsky mess.
