When did the conversations take place? At least as early as summer 2000. How do I know? Well I read a piece of the story you obviouly missed.
In one conversation, in the summer of 2000, the sheik tells the mosque leader, or imam: "In the future, listen to the news and remember these words: `above the head.'"
The point that you are all missing, yet again, is that I don't care who was President nobody could have known what was going to happen. There were hints and vague threats that an attack may come but nothing solid. How much of that crap do you think the CIA/FBI/DIA intercept on a daily basis? Like the part of the article I put in bold said
