Clock Speed Vs FSB speed?

Hey ive got a 2000+xp tbred A and ive come to find i can get it to a max speed of about 1945mhz, but ive found that i can also take the fsb as high as 189/10 for a total of 1889 mhz im just curious which is gonna be better for me the higher fsb or the higher clock speed, i mainly play games and surf these forums

it all depends, they each have advantages, do some testing, i belive the higher fsb, which also will give you more memory bandwith would be better in general.

Is this ran on a board with an agp/pci lock??? If not 189 using a 1/5 divider would be just at 76/38 which is ok...older board may be running a 1/4 divider and that would be 98/47 and not be good for most items if they even run....

If your ram can handle the speed coupled with the total system fsb will be increased as well this is slightly better performance....Games should feel it and less noticebale in surfing the web...

At XP2000+ speed the gains are tiny (< 5%) in going to 333FSB over 266FSB so anything higher than 333FSB is certainly only good for bragging. Perhaps consider an XP1700+ TbredB as they cost next to nothing and should yield at least XP2600+ speeds at which point 333FSB is well worth it and anything higher yields decent (though not outstanding) gains.
