Does the latest clockgen for NF4 support K8 FID/VID with the Asus A8N SLI Premium?

My CPU is X2 4400.

If so please tell me how to enable it.

Thanks.

There are several versions of Clockgen. There isn't one specifically for the a8n premium, however there is one for all nf4 boards. DL that, install it, and it should work.

I played with it a little bit, and it seemed to work fine. I used it mostly though, to simply read/verify what I had done in the bios manually.

Don't know for sure, but it works with my A8N-SLI deluxe and SD3700+ don't see why it wouldn't. There isn't anything to enable just download and go, maybe something with the X2?

I had already downloaded the NF4 version but the K8 FID/VID group is not enabled (grayed).
I'll look again on CPUID but I am quite certain I have downloaded and run the correct version for the A8N given what I downloaded was for all NF4's.

Thanks.

I have the latest ClockGen for NF4 that's available on CPUID but it still doesn't have K8 FID/VID. I upgraded chipset drivers to 6.66 and then bios to 1006.
No Joy! Here's the files I unzipped.

Any ideas?

why do you want to mess around with the fid/vid anyway?

fid/vid is for mults and voltage.

voltage is limited to 1.5 i believe and you can change mults in bios so why do you need this?

Did you also ask the author of ClockGen why it was written?

Voltage is not supposed to be limited to 1.5. I want to tweak it like others have without using the bios for every adjustment.

A simple rule with OC and fiddling is not to use any software to do it. Go the BIOS way All the way that way Ull reduce the amount of hardware grief since Ure in absolute full control.

Just my 0.02?

Providing the bios works............ In the case of the premium the vcore is screwed and others are looking for options. With Clockgen NF4, FID/VID doesn't function so it's not the solution.....

Yep, I should give up with the GUI tweaker utils - and I have made my last non-bios tweak.

I have been primarily using the bios. It is pretty stable right now but vcore is such a grief with this board. It was ~1.39v (CPU-Z/AIBooster) when the bios vcore was set to 1.450v.
I upped the bios vcore to 1.475v and now it is fluctuates with CPU-Z between: 1.456, 1.472, 1.488 and 1.504.

What does one believe?

C'mon Asus - get this resolved.
