This place is legit. I've ordered from them several times. This "deal" has been around for over a year (if not longer). The guy has quantities of closeouts and stuff. Don't expect to sell the games for much more than he's selling them for, because they've been flooded on e-Bay and other places every since last August or so. I sold some a while ago, but as I said, they've been flooded so much you'll be lucky to get your money back for them on e-Bay and have a hard enough time trying to sell them for a few bucks on a site. I still have some on my site..good for filler Once in a while I might get an order that has one in, but usually people want the older games.

Most are shrinkwrapped on OsheaLTD..all are new. *Note: Do not expect all of your games to come in perfect condition. I've received many games that have had dented/partially crushed boxes..a few that the boxes were severely crushed. But yes, it is legit and he ships rather fast.

If you've been looking to play some of these games, go on and buy them. Probably the cheapest you'll find them. If you're looking to sell them, don't bother. It's not worth the shipping costs and you will be lucky to get what you paid total out of them.

Hope that helps,
Ace (Wayne)

Oshea is legit - I purchased these games from him as far back as 1996 (when you could only order them by the case of 72) - and forget about auctioning them for a quick profit - it's been done for years.

I forgot to elaborate on what I said above about people wanting older games. These games are old..kindof. They're all pretty much around 1987 and up. Even Space Invaders and stuff. So most of them are basically re-releases of the original game.

Oh, and by the way. The guy there at OsheaLTD has emailed so many people it's not even funny. I think I got an email from him because I had put up some game auctions on e-Bay. He *really* wants rid of them. And as far as inventory goes, he's in the same boat I am. He has a quantity of these games, but only a small selection of different titles. Boy..if I only had different games for every duplicate I have..my site would probably have over 1000 boxed games to choose from. *sigh*

heh. Well, I don't really have any complete systems. Geez..a while ago I think I had like six, but we sold them at a flea market for $15 apiece or something. That was before I really had my site up. I may have one somewhere..but your best bet would probably be a stop at a flea market or something around you. You won't find them real cheap on e-Bay..although prices have dropped quite a bit since last year.

Other than that you might find something at classifieds2000.com or on another Atari site. I guess if you wanted to buy it online cheap look at some online auction sites and see what you can come up with. Or, heck, maybe someone on this board will sell ya one cheap!

Personally I would say don't spend more than $15 or $20 for a system, controllers and power supply with no games. Heck, back in '95 or '96 you couldn't get more than $10 out of an Atari system and 20 games.

Funny..like 3 months after I sold a few hundred games at a flea market is when people decided they'd go back to nostalgia. One guy bought a bunch of games at a flea market..we were happy to get $0.50 apiece for them. I think that's were Atari 2600 Halloween went. I'd prob be able to get well over $40 for that game now. *sigh*

This will come in handy. I got an Atari 2600 for Christmas this past year, and I'm always looking to get more good games for it. Really need to at least pick up Venture (that game still rocks).

Well I know that http://www.multimedia1.com still sells systems as well as games for the old classics...The place can be expensive with some of the games but they have rare stuff like atari 2600 joysticks and colecovision stuff. I bought a vectrex from them last xmas and it was in perfect shape. Anyone else know of good classic game stores?

lorra, this isn't the for sale/trade forum and auctions aren't allowed. The mod will probably remove it and you may get flamed.

Just a warning...

Don't forget that a Sega Genesis controller makes an excellent replacement for the shoddy atari joysticks (though the paddles still rock on their own). It improved my pacman score substantially. Now if only donkey kong wasn't a bloody 2 level slice of the original. At least I have the full arcade version in donkey kong 64.

With an emulator, you can't use the old joysticks and sit back 15' from a 27" screen with your buds and play. Just something different about playing the real thing. If you don't feel the need, you can't really understand, I guess.

RagManX: But the old joysticks are intrinsicly worthless. You have to try it with a genesis controller. It will breath new life into your old games. Heck, I'm going to play Venture right now.

Maxim Magazine had a full page article about this company on page 100 of the July 2000 issue. The background photo is a picture of their warehouse with row after row of atari games stacked up. From this picture, it is obvious why they are able to close these out cheaply.

Here's the text, although it would be interesting if someone could scan in the picture:

------------------

It's 1982 all over again inside this Kansas City limestone mine-cum-warehouse, where stacks of Ms. Pac-Man, Asteroids, and other classis Atari games - in their original, unopened boxes - are waiting to be shipped. The stash is what remains of Atari, which quietly liquidated its stock in 1991.

The 2 million 2600 and 7800 cartridges were ultimately bought by O'Shea Ltd., a Missouri operation that hawks anything, cheap. The company's ragtag Web site (www.oshealtd.com) advertises more than a million games, and CEO Bill Houlehan says he's "still unpacking boxes and finding games I thought we were out of."

All in all, bonus points for collectors and Atari fans the world over. Even more retro than the piles of cartridges is the price: 80 cents a pop.
