Dress sharp. Always good advice.
The clothes say a lot about the man and determine the type of women you'll attract. If I walked around like a wannabe rapper, I'd probably attract trashy girls with laquered hair. If I dress in a three piece, I'll catch the eye of professional women. Dickies, jeans and a ratty t-shirt, I got farmer girls beating down my barn door.
I mix it up between sharp as hell and casual. I don't like being one way or the other too many days in a row.

Men don't wear t-shirts. Men wear collared shirts. You WILL notice a difference if you dress sharply, tuck your shirt in, think about what matches, decent shoes, belt - basically just look sharp.
Also you're not that tall. I'm 6'3 and any shirt that is XL fits perfectly.

I'm not so sure about that gilt.com site. They had a pretty nice price on a wilson polo, so I thought I would give it a shot. They wanted $12 to ship it and it would take 2-3 weeks, wtf? Screw that.

It depends on your build really. I can wear a nice pair of jeans and a XL t-shirt and have women drooling.

I own 2 t-shirts. They are (board) gaming related and I wear them once a year at conventions. I threw the rest of my t-shirts out when I graduated college.
I also own NO jeans and only one pair of shorts. It is slacks and full button down shirts for me even on weekends and vacationing.

That sounds completely overdressed. No jeans? I can understand not wearing the loose loungy faded Lee's anymore, but a quality and well-fitted pair of jeans is considered quite stylish. By button down shirt, I assume you mean oxford shirts (dress shirts). Button down shirt means button down collar, and that is way too dressy for the weekend.
There are oxford shirts that are designed to be more casual, they typically have collar points and generally are not as stiff. You can pull off a decent look by rolling up the sleeves on these but it's not my cup of tea. For warm weather I'll wear a tight fitting polo shirt, it looks effortless and relaxed. As it gets cooler you can move to heavier material and long sleeves, and then you get into sweater territory.

Every button shirt I own has buttons for the collar. I do have some shirts supplied by my employer that are 3 button... those are the least dressy in my wardrobe (other than the gaming t-shirts).
I despise jean material, I prefer slacks. I mow in older pairs and I wear nice ones no matter where I go.
What can I tell you, I may be over dressed but I like the way I dress.

Meh it depends. Some of my "t-shirts" are higher quality shirts. I bought a silly Lucky Charms shirt last week and it was anything but lame.
Really I don't care what men on the internet think about clothes, that's not my target audience.

with jeans untucked
anything else tucked
also only the short shirts can go untucked (fall just below the belt) some shirts to past mid thigh and those should never be untucked and never worn with jeans

Yet here you are. In an internet thread populated by mostly men. Talking about clothes.
