But then again I don't go to RT much, but from my experience they tend to give pretty crappy ratings to ALOT of movies, and the taste in movies there is something rather different than the general population.

Ugh... RT would get a 32% on the tomatometer for its new design.
A combination of unpleasantness and stupidity that would be difficult to match, unless you were stuck in bed with the flu while being forced to watch Lou Dobbs.
A robust 80-minute burst of barely-controlled mayhem. Monster fans will love it.

Yeah, because I need that shitty web site to decide what I like and don't like. Thank God they are here, otherwise I might actually go and enjoy a BAD movie.

They could rate the movie at 0% and I'd still be sold. I was sold the moment the original trailer ended before the Transformers showing.
I like J.J. Abrams, I like monster movies (maybe it'll be better than the American 'Godzilla' movie, even though I liked it I could tell why others wouldn't), and I like the shaky personal cam idea. I'm a sucker for that, it really is effective on me and draws me right into the film like it was me there. Works awesome if its actually handy cams ala Blair Witch (and apparently this movie), but still works well with regular expensive cameras, just shaky (like Transformers).

to sum up, that's perfect.. and without knowing anything else about the movie, I would be immediately sold.
I don't like critiquing movies. It ruins the experience and makes it hard to enjoy. I like sitting back, relaxing, and enjoying a movie. I'm not a film snob who hates pretty much any movie someone takes me to see. Very few movies have I walked out of at the end and said 'wow that was just bad'. One, I tend not to go to movies I can tell I won't like based on the premise or genre... and two, I just don't judge harshly. If it's really bad, I'll tell ya.

Ya I agree with that. I would say that anyone who walks into that movie expecting a lot more than what it is probably going to be will be disappointed. I am not going this Friday to see a 5 star Oscar award film. I am going to see a freaken monster movie!

After reading through like all 7 reviews, i finally found one that says "Yes. You see the monster. You see it clearly".
That's all I needed. It looks cool enough, i was just afraid it'd be skewed more towards Lost where you have absolutely NO idea what's going even at the end.
I know it makes me sound pathetic, but if I'd been told you never see the monster, I probably wouldn't go. I hate this "use your imagination so we don't have to do anything that makes sense" movement in Hollywood movies lately.
