Club-going ATOTers, have you experienced "the sassy girl" phenomenon?

So I'm talking to a friend who just moved back in North America and the topic of "the sassy girl" arose. She's unaware of this phenomenon, so I'm trying to determine if it exists in other cities than Toronto, Canada.


Definition:
The sassy girl is, and I'm going to be blunt here, the unattractive (in terms of weight, general appearance, or a mix of the two) one in the gaggle of girls who tend to travel as a pack to bars and clubs.

Mostly for reasons of looks, the sassy girl would otherwise be excluded from the group, but get included on nights out for one reason: She provides entertainment. The sassy girl will take the slightest bit of umbrage from any male (or if the pickings are slim, a female) and turn into a complete and utter bitch... for the purpose of showing off to her friends of how extreme and daring she can be with total strangers. The sassy girl walks around with a lot of fake confidence. She's loud. She's proud. Males wither in her presence.


Habitat:
The sassy girl phenomenon, it seems, is mostly limited to larger cities where people for whatever reason tend to be more unfriendly.


Weaknesses:
Being called out on the reasons for their behaviour. Assure her loudly in front of her friends that she doesn't need to make up for being unattractive by being a bitch; that she doesn't need to put on this show for her friends to be accepted, you're sure she's got a fine personality; etc.


Lessons To Learn:
Not being yourself for the sake of fitting in with some stupid clique is a bad idea. It poisons you slowly from within. Improve (or accept) your imperfections and find friends who accept you for you.

This might be similar. I was working with this girl out at some athletic fields at my university, we both worked for the recreation dept at that school. They had the womens soccer team out there.. when they finished their drills they took of their shirts only with their sports bra on, some of them anyway. She is kind of overweight, slightly unattractive, but not really that bad in my opinion, but I wouldn't expect her to run around with just a sports bra on. anyway she says with a kind of disgusted look on her face: "I can't believe the coach is letting them take their shirts off." haha she was just jealous she wasn't as fit as they were and couldn't strut it.

I can personally say that this has happened to me except it wasn't just one of them, but three of them. They thought they could get away with anything, including theft of my free volleyball (it was AVP weekend in Manhattan Beach). After I called them on it, they pulled the gender card, e.g., a real man would let them have the ball, etc. Came damn close to tackling one as they grabbed and tried to run out of the bar with my ball.

I've never met anyone, let alone, with such low class.

I guess I have a perfect group of guys to hang with because we rarely run into this problem. We see it all the time, but there are ways around it. That girl just needs attention, she's very insecure and knows she's only along to make the other girls look better, or out of straight pity.

My good friend.....I'll never figure out his deal.....he's probably a 5 or 6 on a scale of 10 (rating him for the purpose of the story) can pull more ass than any man I know. We call him the "grenade jumper". He not only "grenade jumps" out of the interest of our group, but because he actually seems to enjoy it.

They all tell me I use the "Divide and Conquer" method, but I've never noticed it's my way until they pointed it out. It seems to work really well for me though. Once he has the uglier/plumper girl out of the way or softened up I move in and make my pick, getting her to move away from her group so I can work in private. My other friends in the group are more "social" in a sense that they'll leave the rest in the pack and work on them there.

The only time my "Divide and Conquer" strategy doesn't really work is if it's a bachelorette party or birthday party of bar hopping girls. They usually don't stay in one place long enough to be broken down like that and they're extra defensive because of the situation.

If I see a girl wearing a tiara or a mini wedding veil thing at a bar it's like a penis deterrent, I stay far away.
