how does a push/pull fan setup do better than a regular pull or push? my car only has a fan pulling air through its radiator and i know that when in motion there isnt as mush airflow if the fan is still running as well. Wouldnt this be similar with 2 fans set up to push and pull through a radiator?

No. Running fans in series increases the pressure they can put out. Since the heatsink itself is an obstruction this will aid airflow. I know they aren't quite in series being on seperate ends of the heatsink but that's the general idea. I'd also imagine it keeps airflow more laminar through the heatsink.

The example with a car radiator is different because at high speeds the airflow from the vehicle greatly exceeds the capacity of the fan

I do it on purpose, gets under the skin so hopefully they rethink the BS going thru their head. The OP seems to understand what the H70 is and the reasons for wanting it are understandable. You OTOH didn't disprove anything. You said, "I want to set up this build and squeeze as much performance as I can out of it, then leave it alone." Considering that, I was wrong, your not just picking the most expensive parts, you simply don't know what you're doing. You don't need a 2600k, Maximus IV, and 1866 memory to accomplish that. Give me (good) specific reasons for choosing these parts and I'll concede. Or maybe you have none and just like having uber parts, that'd be fine too.

Oh, the rage. I suppose if I was your forum chum you'd be full of sunshine and support (* noting your posts have a sunny disposition in certain threads, and this e-thug attitude in others), but because I buy x, y, z part "I don't know what I'm doing?" There are a number of board members with these parts, perhaps you should send them messages (aigomoria is one) with "You really don't know what you're doing". Keep in mind, you don't get under our (my) skin. You toss out assertions/judgements that are simply baseless with no argumentation, and expect the recipient to sit there defending him/herself. I (we) are not your puppets, and that's that.

Perhaps instead of doing so you should pay more attention to what people post. Visit my memory/storage thread and bump it again by saying "I didn't disprove anything". Your claim there was, I'll remind you helpfully here, that "I am simply buying the most expensive parts". Here's a newsflash: a 980X is more expensive than a 2600K. Your necessary claim was debunked; you uttered a falsity, and you simply ended up looking silly for making such a rank generalization. You think you're getting under my skin? It seems I'd just need to list my parts and you'll get upset. I'll do that when the build comes together, then you can feel free to jump in the thread and say "LOL HAF-X is OVERKILL FOR THOSE MILD OVERCLOCKS LOL!!!" and feel better about yourself, if you want, for failing to make yet another poster look stupid. Cheers!

I just recently bought the CM Hyper 212+ and I must say I am impressed.

OCed my CPU to 3.7 ghz and my idle is around 30ish while under load it pushed to 50ish, I haven't crossed 60 yet :coo: . I am going to try to push it to 4.0 soon.

Still won't answer my question, huh? Notice how many people in your thread were suggesting lower speed memory? It's easy enough to answer your question, but 1866+ for a SB build is a noob choice unless you have a good reason for it, one being a hobbyist (like aigomoria) which I doubt you are since you even had to ask about it. People buy high-end boards for specific reasons, like to take advantage of faster PCIe when running dual video cards. But even a $190 board can do that. There's very little reason to get a 2600K unless you can take advantage of HT.

From this post, it looks like I am getting under your skin. I don't try to make anyone look stupid. They do that themselves. I try to save people money. There's always more meaningful ways to spend money than going overkill on a computer.

No, you can't get under my skin. Repeatedly pointing out your fallacies is a bit tiring, but I can be generous here especially within the context of receiving help myself.

Even in the above post you're close to hitting the nail on the head but with a statement like this "which I doubt you are since you even had to ask about it" - that seems to preclude those who were once hobbyists (I.e., had the desire), gave it up some years ago, and then decided to return to it. But why must the choice be a flat out "hobbyist" or "not a hobbyist"? This is what I mean re: the unreasonable tone of your posts (with people you declare noobs), and it makes me very unlikely to share my reasons with you (especially when they are sound).

Regarding "trying to save people money" I didn't ask, even once, for help 'lowering costs' or anything like that, right? The perverse thing is that, in my thread, someone posted a benchmarking result for the different memory speeds and timings and there was a definite trend there going against "margin of error" rationalizations. Just because those performance benefits do not seem worth it to YOU does not entail that they are not worth it to ME. I can't be any clearer than that.

So are you hinting at once being a hobbyist and trying to get back into it? If so, why not just say it. Discussion over. If not, with how long your posts are you could just as easily explain why you're choosing those parts. Maybe I'll accept it, maybe not. This is a forum. People say as they please (keeping within the rules). Personally, I try to save people money whether they want to or not. And sometimes I'm brash about it. If you don't like it, you don't have to reply.

Do you have Real Temp installed on your system? Some motherboards misreport the temps.

My 930 pushes past 70C @ 3.5 using the same cooler as you. I'm surprised to hear yours is so low.

What is your ambient ?
I have the 212+ and with my ambient about 21 right now, my max is 66 running FAH, 100% load - 4.9ghz 1.42 vcore.. Temps were high 70's with P95 ...

SB runs cooler than Bloomfield..
