I couldn't instal cwm with it or it wouldn't boot. Is there anyway for me to install gapps without cwm?

To put CMW on it you put the file "update-cwm_tenderloin-1012" in the cminstall folder that you create on the touchpad.

After that run the "novacom boot mem:// < ACMEInstaller" that will reinstall everything.

As far as I know it's the only way to get CWM on it without using adb. Without CWM you can't install the market unless you use adb.

I got it I did Nova first with all 3 zip files. Then booted into cwm and flashed cm7 then flashed gapps. Working great now.

Had one hard crash but overall it's working very well. It's running surprisingly speedy too.

Too bad there are some apps that simply aren't designed for a large screen.

However, now I have an excellent PDF reader, ebook reader, video player, comic reader and web browser all running smoothly without weird pauses. This already far exceeds what WebOS gave me.

Works pretty well for me. Just have a few of my apps installed so far.

Keyboard sucks compared to webOS one.

Glad to see this working, but how much longevity will it have? HP only did a limit run to fill some TP orders, but so far as I know, the TP and WebOS are dead. Not sure how many TPs are actually in the wild, and of that number, how many are in the hands of people who will install CM or other custom builds?

Especially with an array of 7in, 8in, 9in, and 10in devices running Android natively, with quad core chips coming as early as November.

Not sure what you mean by this. Once its got a fully working CM build on it it'll have the same longevity as any other Android tablet.

My biggest issues seems to be wifi. No complaints, it is amazing what they have done so far and I expect things will be fixed

There's at least 500,000 touchpads out in the wild right now. Some estimates put the total production run somewhere around 750,000. With the changing of the guard at HP, there's also a good chance that demand for the hardware (sans WebOS) might cause them to look at putting out a new tablet at a $299-$349 price point; in fact, HP Small Biz recently had touchpads in stock, albeit at the $210 and $260 price points.

The more I play the happier I am with CM7 on this thing It still has some bugs, but it plays netflix and HBO Go both perfectly.

wow this thing is pretty good for an alpha.

i put on mx video player and sw mode seems to play smoothly, hardware not so much. and the thing isn't even overlocked ( default 1.188ghz ).

it did wipe out my webos installed apps though for some reason.

Working great thus far. Battery life seems fine so far.

Text selection is a breeze, no weird font rendering issues, good stuff all around.

I installed this last night, and then added the fix to allow me to download google maps, Dolphin HD browser, etc. from Google Apps.

WOW.

I am thrilled with the progress so far. Even if they weren't able to make any further progress, this adds a lot of value to the Touchpad. The biggest improvement IMO is to stabilize the wifi...mine keeps dropping out in android mode.

That was my biggest issue but I found a work around. Go into wifi settings press menu then advanced then change the sleep setting to never.

Thanks for the tip.

If I could just get the Onkyo Remote app to work consistently, I'd be ecstatic.

Man the CPU in these are sick. I OCed with setcpu to over 1.8ghz. For a alpha release 2900 quadrant isn't bad. This is also with some obvious optimization that needs to take place. Some of the video tests are very stuttery.

Loaded this on my Touchpad last night. Pretty easy to do and seems pretty stable so far. My WiFi works fine so far. Pretty basic looking on first boot. I'm new to Android as I just got my SGS2 a couple days ago. Trying to get it to look similar to my SGS2 seems to be a struggle for me. Added tinkering around is kinda fun tho.

This doesn't (and will never have) the TouchWiz skin that Samsung phones ship with. That's why it doesn't look the same.

I finally got around to installing it and agree it's awesome and very polished for alpha build. Can't wait for final build and then ICS later down the line. Mad props to the CM team.
