I wonder how many had differing opinions than they did in this thread:

You're all over the map, doing your best to miss the point entirely.
Not yet. CNN used the threat of doxxing to go after someone with little power because someone with a lot of power Trump used his edited video to piss them off. That's nice... get bullied by someone with more power than you so you go after the little guy... good going CNN. Nevermind the fact that they helped Trump get through the primary. It's also astoundingly obtuse how the purveyors of such hate can be portrayed as victims, particularly over something that never happened to them. No doxxing occurred.
CNN? Bravo! They helped one such fool see the light & seek salvation.
I couldn't miss the point by as much as you have no matter how much effort I put into it.

I'll just chalk that idiocy to a failed attempt at satire.
Hanassholio & Trump are the perps here, not CNN. They just helped Han come to his senses. Too bad Trump never will.
Because CNN provided no assistance to Trump in the GOP primary only to become salty about it after Trump attacks them... right... sorry CNN hasn't done anything about this video except for bullying a troll who can't fight back.
Trump is the asshole they should focus on but just can't seem to effectively attack him very well.
Which is too bad...

Kathy Griffith is a Comedienne. Trump is the President. False equivalency noted.
Poor Trolls! So Persecuted!
I'm sure the guy saw the fact that CNN had found him as a threat.
Liberal hypocrisy not avoided
So, uhh, Trump is just a comedian?
Too bad that's not the truth.
Worst Comedian Ever! Cancel His Show.
I don't know... He made America a joke again after 8 years of having a leader who was a statesman....
I'm just waiting for him to rename sauerkraut to "freedom cabbage" after being pissed off when asking Merkel for the 12'th time (only two more times to go) about a trade agreement between the US and Germany and being told for the 12th time that he will have to negotiate trade agreements with the EU and not individual member nations.
Still, not a Comedian. A Satirist. Me thinks Satirist and president is not a match made in heaven. There will be hell to be paid and he's relishing every minute of creating/dispersing the bill. I loath him.
Well, what can I tell you, it's funny when you are on the outside looking in.
However as a man who possesses empathic capability I can sympathize with those on the inside such as yourself.
Still... LOL, 'murica.
He none of all that he just an asshole.
'MURICA indeed! Laugh away but please pray for us when it gets bad... If you're not a praying man, send help!
I've said it before and will say it forever... He has not one redeeming quality and I look for that shit because it's my duty as a human being.
Weird, that reads exactly like the other review, word for word. Again, though, you're missing my point. I have no problem agreeing that a play where Trump is brutally stabbed to death is not a calamity, even though I think as a basic principle no play should include a political figure being assassinated unless it's historical fact. Otherwise, use a fictional character. However, my point is that sponsoring a play where Trump is assassinated is still far more serious than a silly Internet meme where Trump beats up a CNN logo. What about the production in New York at the Baruch Performing Arts Center by The Acting Company and which was reviewed in the American Conservative in 2012. You think that anyone heard about that one?
I even tossed in the review from May 21, 2012 for ya

See, this is where Trump Derangement Syndrome takes you into other madness too. I can't stand Cheeto Jesus, didn't vote for him, will never vote for him. I consider him even worse than Hillary. But you guys are so sick that anyone who isn't on board for every single segment of the crazy train express is a frothy Trump supporter. As with any President, I'll support him when I think he's correct and criticize him when I think he's wrong.werepossum would die for trump. Let that sink in.
I don't recall you weighing in on Kathy Griffin's little escapade. Context, I suppose? You should show me that. I'd be excited to get that feedback.
My point is that you continue to leave Trump out of this situation and he made it a thing. No Trump, nothing that followed.
<sigh> The violence being (A) professional wrestling (and if you believe that is real you are going to hate what I have to tell you about the Easter Bunny) and (B) against the CNN logo. The assassination of Caesar is not presented as a good thing in any way, especially for the conspirators. This play is literally a statement about political violence being a bad idea. Meanwhile, the meme is presenting the violence as a good thing.
In CNN's defense, they (and pretty much everybody) were absolutely convinced that helping Trump win the nomination was an absolute lock for Hillary's coronation. Who here was not absolutely shocked to awake and learn that Donald "your risk my profit" "kill this unholy orange Muppet living on my head" Trump had actually beaten Hillary? The thing that's what pretty much every major cable news network in the U.S. did to Trump during the primary... including the Charlatan News Network.
You can't depend on any cable news network from the U.S. anymore sadly.
Now that CNN is made to look like a fool (which it has become since Ted Turner left... but by not means the only one) it gets all salty and goes after the guy who produced it...
Nothing like a corporate entity going after the little guy (albeit a troll) and some just let it slide because they hate the president....
I remember when Bush W was in office and there was a movie whose plot involved his hypothetical assassination...
I refused to watch it even though I think that members of the Bush administration did need to be brought up on war crimes charges.
CNN is not the victim in this. It is a victimizer who was glad to find that the person who created the CNN wrestling .gif is also a racist troll so that they can pretend to take the high road.
Nevermind the fact that they (along with the other cable news channels) happily provided Trump's campaign with a lot of free advertisement for ratings.
